1. Our new article writing service begins strongly
==================================================
Readers responded enthusiastically to our new article writing service, set up just for AssociatePrograms.com readers.
About 400 of you signed up in the first few days.
Some customers have already returned to order more articles, so obviously they liked the first ones they bought.
In case you missed it, there are no monthly fees. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up. You pay only for the totally original articles you request, written on the keywords you choose.
The service is run by affiliate coach Dan Ho and his business partner. Dan and David are already experienced at providing such a service. They’re highly successful affiliates who know exactly what affiliates need.
My assistant Glennys gives her view…
“I’ve used Dan and David’s writing service myself and I’ve been absolutely delighted with the quality of articles I’ve received. I really don’t know how they manage to source such high quality writers for the money.”

2. Why does article marketing work for some but not others?
===========================================================
Some affiliates have reported that it has become more difficult to get good rankings by submitting articles to article directories.
However, other affiliates are still using the technique successfully.
Google engineer Matt Cutts issued a fairly clear warning in October when said that not every article directory is high quality.
“Sometimes you see a ton of articles copied all over the place, and it’s hard to even find original content on the site. The user experience for a lot of those article directory sites can be pretty bad too. So you’d see users landing on those sorts of pages have a bad experience. If you’re thinking of boosting your reputation and getting to be well known, I might not start as the very first thing with an article directory. Sometimes it’s nice to get to be known a little better before jumping in and submitting a ton of articles as the first thing.”

I wanted to know why article marketing is working for some affiliates but not others so I asked affiliate coach Dan Ho.
He’s right on top of this issue. He’s been using article marketing very successfully for years and at Mosaic Internet Success he teaches his students how to do article marketing.
Dan says he’s seen no diminishing impact of posting articles to article directories. His findings are backed up by what he’s witnessing with his students.
As in life, the 80/20 rule applies. Those who get a LOT of sales have more drive, ambition, time, and can follow directions. In the roughly 80% group are many who do respectably as well as those who drop out.
Dan says that since he began his affiliate training service in May, the commissions earned by his students – using article marketing – have increased every month without fail.
The students’ January 2009 commissions showed a substantial leap over December 2008.
“My experience and that of our students is that article marketing continues to be highly effective and I am not seeing any diminishing returns from it as of yet.
“I am not currently changing any advice I am giving.”
His students submit articles to only a few article directories.
On Mosaic’s private forum, Dan publishes a list of recommended article directories. He gave me permission to publish his list. If his students want to submit to multiple directories, these are the ones he typically recommends:
EzineArticles
Go Articles
Article Alley
Article Dashboard
Article City
Amazines
Idea Marketers
“However, I tell students I believe the top two are EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com and that if they just submit to those two exclusively they will do just fine. Some students do this and some submit to the top 5 and top 10 directories I list in the private forum…
“The bigger question here is: Does the added benefit of submitting to the top 10 directories offer more benefit than what would be obtained by submitting to only the top 2 and using that extra time to write more articles?”
Dan lets his students answer that for themselves.
Dan advises his students to submit the same article to all the directories they submit to, not unique ones to different directories. He says that in all his years of doing a lot of article marketing he’s seen no disadvantage to this, except for the time involved. He uses article submitter software to speed up the process a bit.
However, one student encountered an “unfortunate development” as a result of multiple submissions.
“In the past, I discovered it didn’t matter in what order you submit articles to the directories. Because EzineArticles is the most strict (you start off basic and have to work up to expert status for faster article review and unlimited submissions) I told students to submit to GoArticles and the other directories till they achieved platinum status at EzineArticles.”
EzineArticles’ rules say it doesn’t matter if you submit content to them that you have previously submitted elsewhere as long as you own the rights to the articles.
Unfortunately, someone stole the student’s articles.
“EzineArticles’ algorithms then claimed my student was using someone else’s content and rejected the articles, even though the student was the originator of the articles. So here was an unfortunate case of the thief gaining at the expense of the honest person.
“Of course my student appealed the case to EzineArticles and as proof that he was the originator of the articles, he sent EzineArticles links to the dated publications of his articles on the other article directories. EzineArticles, after reviewing the case, restored his account.”
So from now on, Dan recommends students submit to EzineArticles first, till the articles are accepted, before submitting those articles to other directories.
I asked Dan if he advises his students to get links from other places, too?
“For a full blown website or a mini-site I would absolutely advise this. But for the one-page presell sites we use for this service, not really. The article marketing drives almost all of the traffic and the one-page presell… well, does the job of preselling… and then the merchant site does the job of making the sale. It’s something I experimented with quite a bit in the past before ever launching this service so I knew this model worked – ESPECIALLY if that model included a passive income program that effectively gave you lifetime ownership of the customer when it comes to commissions.”
MY VIEW:
Looking to the future, wondering what the search engines will do next, my instincts tell me that as well as choosing only the best directories and targeting long-tail keywords, it would be safest to get links from a variety of sources to make your links look natural to search engines, and to submit a unique article to each directory.
However, Dan is describing real life experience. He’s telling you exactly what is working RIGHT NOW for him and his students.
Experience beats theory any day.
Dan and David do a lot of the work for their students, choosing keywords, identifying good affiliate programs, and so on. As an optional extra, they’ll even build a website for you. For affiliates who want to be taught article marketing, his affiliate training is a very good option.

3. Article marketing student describes his results
==================================================
Here’s more proof that article marketing still works if you submit to top article directories and target long-tail keywords. This was posted on Dan Ho’s private forum by one of his students, Vijay…
“Hello Dan, I joined the Mosaic Success Group on the 19th December, 2008. Created Xtendlife website and started posting 3-5 articles per day from the 25th December, 2008.
“I had got my first Xtendlife sale on 31st December. And since that day till today 9th January, 2009 have got around 6 sales with commissions accruing to $150 and around $13 from AdSense.
“And the sales are coming in consistently even though I am not still a platinum member at Ezinearticles yet. I have posted around 30-35 articles till date. I write all my articles myself.
“I am writing this to convey my thanks to Dan and to just give out some idea of how well this system works that involves the ‘long tail’ theory. And the excellent mentoring that Dan has provided from scratch, makes me confident that we all can succeed if we follow consistently what Dan has taught us.
“My example is a clear proof that joining late does not create any disadvantage for the new members…
“Many thanks to Dan for his outstanding coaching and mentoring. And I wish all the new members best of luck and guarantee them that they too can be outstanding performers if they follow Dan’s coaching with full commitment.”
