Associate Programs Newsletter #565 Nov. 19, 2014.
“It's a beautiful day. We should be doing something interesting,” my wife said.
No, no, she didn't mean THAT. This is a clean newsletter.
But exactly what should we do?
Searching for inspiration, I had a look at 43Things.com.
The website provides a glimpse into the yearnings of more than 3 million people who share their goals, spur each other on, and get ideas and inspiration.
For example, here are the five all-time most popular goals:
1. Lose weight 41933 people
2. Write a book 31273 people
3. Stop procrastinating 30399 people
4. Fall in love 27240 people
5. Be happy 24987 people
The site is a treasure trove for anyone who wants to spark ideas for a new niche, a new website, or for articles to write.
Finding niche website ideas is as simple as going to the main page at 43Things.com and clicking your page refresh button a few times. You'll see lots of words. You can delve into topics by clicking on any of the words.
As well as all-time favorites, the site also shows you which ideas are popular online today.
Many of these to-do list items, varying from frank to fanciful to solidly practical, would make enticing topics for a new site.
Here are examples, some better than others…

One benefit of building a site around people's goals is that you're not just building an “affiliate site”. If you do it right, you're building a memorable resource, a site that people talk about and recommend to their friends.

How's your affiliate marketing business going?
Is it OK, but you really need help with certain skills?
Then read on…
Here's something brand new, a very special offer for 20 readers of the Associate Programs Newsletter.
The big problem with seeking affiliate marketing advice is that you can't be sure it isn't just regurgitated pap, written by people who haven't actually been very successful.
At the other end of the extreme are veteran affiliate marketers Dan Ho and his friend David Bloom.
Imagine getting one-on-one assistance from these guys.
Here's their collective experience…
* Over 12 years of successful online marketing.
* Sold millions dollars of products as affiliates.
* Ran affiliate training programs and serviced hundreds of students.
* Expert at SEO.
* Expert affiliate marketers.
* AdWords experts.
* Keyword experts.
* Expert content developers/copywriters.
* Run successful content company with over 1500 members.
* Over 8 years as VP of advertising agency (David Bloom).
* Residual income in the 100s of thousands a year.
They've made their living from affiliate marketing for 12 years. I've known them for years.
Dan told me he's finally reached a point in his life where he seems to have more spare time than he remembers having for the last 10 years.
“My children are now all in school full-time now, leaving me the entire day to myself,” Dan says.
“The students from AffiliateArticleWriters, although we still have a few, are mostly trained … and still promoting and making money, but we gave most of them all the training we could on article writing, so they are mostly doing it on their own now.
“In any event, because of the time surplus, David and I were reminiscing … and we realized we missed the consulting we used to do when we were both certified SBI webmasters. We missed the thrill of helping people in niches that we were not directly involved in to help them build up their own businesses with the principles and strategies we had used to build ours.
“However, our experience since those years have broadened out much further.
“We decided after talking that it would be a lot of fun to work together as a potent consulting team rather than independently.”
If you need help or guidance with any part of your affiliate marketing, with a project large or small, I recommend you contact Dan and David.
They can do hands on work, such as actual web page building, removal of poor quality links, graphical improvements, video creations, keyword research, a Panda Penguin audit, etc.
Or perhaps you want overall guidance, such as niche selection, social media strategy or content direction.
Perhaps you just want to get some advice from a real-life affiliate marketing veteran, via phone or Skype?
You'll get their individual, undivided attention.
Because of their years of experience, Dan and Dave can do a lot more than the short list of things I've provided here.
Remember, I've known these guys for years. You can trust them.
If you want one-on-one assistance to take your business to the next level, this is a really good way to go.
