Associate Programs Newsletter #448
Today it might seem like I'm getting on my soap box a little. Don't worry, I know I'm certainly not perfect.
However, what I have to say today is really important for those of you who are just in the early growth stages of your online business.
I encourage you to read and try to turn these thoughts into some action.
Plus a neat free affiliate guide from a $4 million a year super affiliate.
1. This is your business, not your hobby
2. A free guide from a $4 million dollar affiliate
3. Amazing link building resource available again
4. Thought For Today: Lost time is never found again
1) This is your business, not your hobby
I can’t really help myself.
Sometimes when I’ve had a couple of reds and I’m feeling particularly nostalgic I indulge in a few “remember how it used to be” moments and lament about missed opportunities.
I think about all the pointless hours I spent online in 1998 when I could have been building a business. Just letting massive opportunities pass me by.
Sure, I was making a little money online back then, but it was just for fun. It was only a hobby after all.
But that is dangerous thinking, and I wish I had woken up to this fact earlier. If I did, I reckon I would be in a very different place than I am now. Don't make the same mistake.

2) A free guide from a $4 million dollar affiliate
Jonathan Volk is one of the best affiliate marketers I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He’s a really stand up guy that can deliver like few other people on the planet.
Recently he’s managed to scale his affiliate commissions to $300,000 a month.
The thing I really like about Jonathan is that from what I know of him, while he’s raking it in, he’s super grounded.
I pulled this quote from the goals page of his site:
“See, no matter how many big boy toys I get, when I die, I
still die and lose all the toys. Now, that doesn't mean, I
don't like having nice things because I still love having the
toys, just in moderation.
Instead of spending all my money on things that will fade
away when I die, I want to invest my money into the one thing
that I believe lasts forever, the soul. See when you invest
into someone or a group of people, and change their lives for
the better, you're investing into the eternal.”
I suppose when you read that, it’s not surprising that he is giving away a free 17 chapter no-fluff guide called “Make Money with Affiliate Marketing”.
Refreshingly, it comes as is. There are a few affiliate links in the guide of course, but no pitches or upsells to be seen.
A great beginners resource from someone who you should be listening to…

3) Amazing link building resource available again
The link building resource I’ve been getting really excited about lately is available again. They closed things down for a few weeks to catch up with the backlog of customers.
I’ve given this reference to our link building team and we’re implementing all the new strategies with some good results already.
I highly recommend you grab the guide while it’s still around.
[UPDATE: No longer available.]
4) Thought for today: Lost time is never found again
“If time be of all things most precious, wasting time must be the greatest prodigality, since lost time is never found again; and what we call time enough always proves little enough.” – Benjamin Franklin.
All the best
