1. Wow! GoogSpy – really serious competitor research
=========================================
I’ve just spent a couple of days doing research using GoogSpy [UPDATE: Now SpyFu.] the new online spy tool which was launched on April 25.
This is eye-opening stuff.
I’m amazed this research tool is publicly available.
If you haven’t tried it, I recommend you rush there straight away in case it’s closed down or the web servers melt down or something.
A lot of big companies – and small ones – are going to HATE this tool. They’ll love using it, but they’ll hate the fact that their competitors can use it, too.
In some ways it levels the playing field, making company marketing secrets publicly available.
If you think I’m exaggerating to sell you something, you’ve missed the point.
This tool doesn’t cost anything to use.
You don’t even have to hand over your email address.
GoogSpy is brand new and it’s not perfect. You’ll probably see a few runtime errors and your site may not be in the database yet.
Explore. Click around. Have fun.
Warning: It’s addictive.
Here’s an article I’ve written giving you some ideas on how to use GoogSpy to research your competitors, get ideas for new niche web sites, etc.
GoogSpy really serious competitor research
As you can see in that article, I found a company which is buying 18,987 key phrases on AdWords.
What gems have you found? Share them on our affiliate forum and see what other people find…

2. How to find super affiliates (revisited)
========================================
Back in 2001, I reviewed Neil Shearing’s superb software, Internet Success Formula, which hunts down super affiliates –
Neil has upgraded the software and it’s now better than ever, with new features.
If you don’t already own it, think about this… Your competitors probably do. Learn more about it here…

Make sure you also read Neil’s “Irresistible Formula”, which tells you how to charm super affiliates and persuade them to work for you. It’s an essential part of the process.
Neil is really good at this.

3. Ralph’s new report on affiliate management software
=========================================
Dr Ralph Wilson has produced a new report reviewing affiliate management software and solutions.
As usual, he’s done a superb job. He provides the most thorough analysis I’ve seen of the choices available.
If you’re planning to start an affiliate program, Ralph’s report is absolutely essential reading and incredible value.
You can get it here…

4. Nightly Name Dump revamped
========================================
Remember Nightly Name Dump?
For four years, Nightly Name Dump was closed to new subscriptions while continuing to operate quietly. It has now been relaunched publicly by Sharon Tucci and David Halpern.
If you want to grab recently expired domain names for use or to sell, it’s well worth a look.

5. Firefox fan club grows
========================================
I wonder if Microsoft is getting worried yet?
Promoted with a fan club atmosphere, Firefox browser has passed the 50 million downloads mark.
https://www.spreadfirefox.com/fifty.html
(I just checked. It’s now more than 51 million and climbing fast. If you’re not using it, I recommend you try it.)

6. Paydotcom – serious ClickBank alternative
========================================
There’s a new ClickBank alternative, Mike Filsaime’s Paydotcom, and it looks like a serious competitor.
Unlike ClickBank, it allows merchants to:
- offer one-tier or two-tier affiliate programs
- have monthly billing
- sell digital or physical products
- pay instant commissions
- track hits and stats
Sounds great so far.
However, unlike ClickBank, Mike does not insist that merchants must offer a guarantee.
Check out this ClickBank alternative
I wonder how long it will take before ClickBank fights back with improvements?

7. Making the world better one idea at a time
========================================
Off and on for months I’ve been working on an article to help you find ideas for new niche web sites.
I’ll finish it soon. When I do, I’ll let you know.
========================================
8. Get uplifting insights each day
========================================
For a month or so I’ve getting uplifting motivational quotations emailed to me each day.

A short daily motivational quote or inspirational quote sent Monday-Thursday.
An inspirational story every Friday.
It’s bit like making sure your batteries are fully charged – and it doesn’t cost anything.
I recommend it. Try it…

9. Thought for today: The power of focus
========================================
“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And, the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
