Phew!
After months of work, it’s finally done.
AssociatePrograms.com is over 16 years old and has 100,000’s of pages when you look at the forums, directory and all the content that has been posted over the years.
As a result, it’s not easy to do a site evolution of any significance.
There have only been a few revisions to the site over the years. Obviously you’re now looking at the latest revolution of the site.
Here is a glimpse of where we’ve been.
This is what it looked like back in 1998.
It has a small evolution a few years later – although as you can see it was still a very lean text based site.
Then in 2006 we had a major upgrade where we had to convert hundreds of static HTML pages into a database driven site.
Then a smaller size visual upgrade a few years later.
THIS Evolution
As you can see, this is perhaps the most radical evolution of the site’s history.
We now have a real logo for starters. Our mission is to help people grow richer revenue streams in their lives. So the new logo reflects this with organic growth (notice how it looks like the new growth in a plant?).
A huge trend obviously in the last few years is the shift to mobile devices. This new site is fully responsive and will look great on all devices.
Historically, the site has been broken into 3 major sections (site contents, affiliate directory and affiliate forums) with 3 pieces of software running all 3. So a user would have to create an account on all 3 different pieces of software and none of them would talk to one another.
We’ve now combined everything into one system (WordPress) and have created a complete community site.
Which now means that you can create an account on the site, add comments, post on the forum and add affiliate programs to the directory (or comment on them).
You can also see your own activity streams on the site as well as connect with other like minded people.
Of course there were also a million other smaller edits, upgrades, fixes and changes that went along with it.
We’re still doing tweaks and fixes as we go, so if you spot anything weird, please let us know.
Our big aim is to create a true community site for people who are building a business online with affiliate programs being a part of their revenue stream.
We’d love you to help out and get involved in the new forum (the old forum has been archived here) and help us spread the word.
We’ve got a number of cool new things in the works, so keep coming back as we continue to evolve.
If you’ve got any questions or comments, we’d love to hear them below.
