1. How Steve Madigan conquered adversity
========================================
I don’t know what challenges you’re facing in your life right now, but if you’re going through a tough time and feeling a bit sorry for yourself, you really ought to listen to this awesome interview with Steve Madigan.
It’s a compelling story of guts and determination, and pushing through adversity.

Life had been going extremely well for Steve. He’d worked for 20 years in the U.S. semi-conductor industry and had been earning nearly six figures.
Then he contracted a painful medical condition called peripheral neuropathy, which causes pain and numbness in the hands and feet. It was so bad he had to stop working. He couldn’t even type. His wife was dressing him.
For Steve, quitting was never an option.
Last year, his health improved to the stage where he could begin typing again.
He says he was determined to “do something for my family”. So he started tinkering around on the Internet. He tried to make money with AdWords, but that just bled him of money he didn’t have to lose.
Then he read about PLRPro, which is run by Australians Daniel Turner and Marc Lindsay. Daniel lives not far from me.
Daniel and Marc don’t make outrageous claims. They have a “90-day challenge” and a sytematic process that takes you step-by-step to the stage where you’re making a modest $100 a month. It’s all about sticking to one thing until you make it work.
I love the bit in the interview where Steve describes how he printed out the 90-day tracking sheet, stuck the pages together with Scotch tape, and put them on the wall next to his computer to remind himself to keep following the instructions.
He HAD to follow those instructions because, as he says, “I didn’t have a clue. I learned everything from what you guys teach,” he tells Daniel.
In spite of his illness, Steve was a remarkably good student. Instead of making $100 a month, he’s now making $1,000 a month and says he’s aiming for $5,000 a month.

2. Not sure if it’s worth it?

Daniel and Marc are so keen to help you get started with a system that works, they’ll let you test drive their system for only $1 for 14 days.
That’s a heck of a good offer.

3. Quick way to get links
=========================
My old online friend Neil Shearing has launched a free tool which helps you get useful links to your site.
It finds “dofollow” blogs – ones that don’t insert “nofollow” into links in comments.
It’s VERY easy to use.
You download the software, type in a keyword appropriate for your niche, and the tool finds “dofollow” blogs in that niche. (It finds posts that already have from one to five comments.)
You then add a useful, intelligent, sensible “quality” comment – one that the blog owner will appreciate and allow to stay on the blog.
Result: The link passes PageRank to your site, helping it rank higher.
Like many Internet tools, this is one that can be used intelligently or abused.
If the tool is abused by thousands of idiots, a couple of bad things could happen.
* To try to avoid forum spam, many “dofollow” blog owners could switch to using “nofollow” links.
* Search engines could place less importance on links in blog comments.
Right now, there’s a window of opportunity where using the tool should help your pages rank better.
Please use it wisely. If you have a brand new site with no links, don’t suddenly add 1,000 links from blogs. That wouldn’t look natural to search engines. Blog comment links should be only a small proportion of the links to your site. Endeavor to get links from a wide variety of sources.

4. New keyword research tool surprisingly useful
================================================
There’s a new free keyword research tool from Microsoft AdCenter which in some ways is better than some very popular keyword research tools.
With a name like “AdCenter Add-in Beta for Excel 2007 with Ad Intelligence”, you can easily tell that it’s not aimed at beginners.
Craig Cahill, a new member of our team, says:
“This is one of the best keyword research tools I’ve seen. Ad Intelligence has all the basic keyword tools you need, plus heaps of advanced tools that haven’t been available in free programs before.”
Find out why Craig thinks it’s so good…

5. Thought for today: Adversity

“Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are.” – Arthur Golden.
