Associate Programs Newsletter #468
If it didn't have real consequences, it would be quite funny.
You know, the guru hyperbole that's thrown around saying “x” is dead, and if you're not doing “x” you're going to fail.
One of the most annoying examples of this has to be the myth surrounding PPC not working in affiliate marketing. Today, we prove that this isn't the case.
Plus, I reveal a new surprise that we'll be launching soon.
1. Are affiliates still using PPC successfully?
2. A special surprise is on the way
3. Thought for today: Rid yourself of traditional thinking
1) Are affiliates still using PPC successfully?
I've received a few emails from various marketing lists this week that have been banging on about PPC not working for affiliate marketing anymore.
What a load of BS.
The problem is that so many people are being negatively affected and they're giving up on the best traffic source in the world as a result.
Just because a guru with another agenda tells them so.
Sure, it's not working for most scam offers (like rebill offers) that don't offer a good user experience. You must be providing value along the way while promoting offers that don't rip people off.
If you have a “get rich quick” mentality, then yes, PPC probably isn't for you. A good strategy and work are required.
There's an upside to all of this. While these affiliates are leaving in droves, it's making traffic a lot cheaper for affiliates who do provide a good user experience. We're finding that some keywords that were quite expensive before, are now cheaper than ever.
Mike Lowe has written a blog post showing clear proof that PPC is still working VERY well for lots of high quality affiliates.
He shows 3 examples of highly profitable keywords and just how many affiliates are still in the game. Plus, you'll get a bit of coaching on how to become one of them.

2) A special surprise is on the way
I can recall back in 2003 – 04, I could pay around 8 to 12 cents a click for profitable keywords.
It seems that around 2005 things changed dramatically.
The word got out and from that moment on, cost per click started to skyrocket.
To try and stay ahead of the game, we built a software product called SpeedPPC. We never intended on selling it, and just kept it to ourselves.
After I showed a few other industry people what it could do, they wanted to get their hands on it.
It wasn't long after that that I started working on the very first version of SpeedPPC.
As I started sharing the successes that we were enjoying with my colleagues, pretty soon, they too wanted to get their hands on it.
So we turned it into our first commercial product, and now have thousands of raving fans in over 90 countries around the world.
In the next couple of weeks, it will be SpeedPPC's 3rd birthday. We reckon it's a bit of a milestone so we're going to be celebrating with an amazing mega birthday bundle.
We're also timing it with the release of the anticipated 4.5 update which adds some new cool features as well.
So keep your eyes peeled for the info in about 10 days time. If you've ever wanted to be a dominant player in PPC, this is your shortcut.
