If you haven't already done so, I suggest you download Affiliate Organizer. It's a great product and perfect for people like me who need SOMETHING to help get them organized.
Now I know where every little bit of information I've hidden in files all over my computer is – it's on my desktop.
This little marvel was created by Jon Mills. Jon is a successful Internet marketer. He owns a number of affiliate websites as well as publishing his extensive 9-day Affiliate Business Advisor e-course.
As anyone who runs affiliate websites knows, keeping yourself organized is an integral part of building a successful online business. Effective time management means you can spend the bulk of your time doing the important things, NOT searching for usernames, passwords and the myriad of other numbers and codes you need to keep your business running.
As Jon says, “I have lots of websites registered by different registrars, hosted on different servers, with various usernames, passwords, ftp addresses, dns settings, support numbers and email addresses… Not to mention all the advertising campaigns I am running, keyword lists I have spent countless hours creating, software I have purchased, unlock codes, private forums, membership sites and outsourced work that's in progress.”
Sound familiar, hmmm?
That, my friends, is how Affiliate Organizer came to be. To overcome his frustration at never being able to find the information he was looking for, Jon set about designing and creating a software package that would hold EVERY bit of information he would EVER need to successfully administer his business. And that's exactly what this software package does.
Once the software was built, Jon decided he liked it so much he'd make it available to everyone struggling to keep on top of all the admin tasks necessary to run an affiliate business.
There isn't room to include all the features available in this program. You can record details of your websites, merchants, projects, usernames and passwords, hosting, advertising and so much more… suffice to say that if you've thought of it, so has Jon!
Each folder contains input fields appropriate to that topic, with a Notes field as well to record any additional information you may want to keep. All you do is input the information and save it – simple as that! Affiliate Organizer also includes a Task/Alerts feature to remind you of important jobs to be done or appointments to be kept, either by email, sound, or both.
On your desktop
And the best part about Affiliate Organizer is that it's all at your fingertips – no more searching through diaries or note books, or in my case, scrappy bits of paper, for that password or code – it's right there on your desktop.
The only criticism I have about Affiliate Organizer is that everybody organizes themselves in different ways. It's a personal thing, but at present the program doesn't allow you to create new folders or sub folders or give you any variation in how the folders can be used. As an example, like most people, each of my websites has its own hosting, merchants, advertising etc, so I would like to be able to set up those individual folders as a sub-set for each website folder.
However, Affiliate Organizer Version 2.0 is being developed now and Jon assures me the revised package will include the ability to personalize the folders to suit your individual needs, as well as other small changes that have been suggested.
My recommendation is that you get your copy of Affiliate Organizer now. It's capabilities are endless and I guarantee you'll be a changed person once you've loaded all your information into the program. Think of all the time you'll have to spare thinking up new ways to make money instead of searching for that infernal security code you know you wrote down somewhere . . .
UPDATE October 2005
Affiliate Organizer V.2 has been released, and as promised, it now includes more flexibility to create your own folders and sub-folders. This means you can design your organizer inside the program in a way that works best for you.
