Affiliates can now give bonuses instantly and automatically with ClickBank products they are promoting. This is a very powerful – and now much easier – way of increasing your sales and affiliates commissions.
Offering a bonus to customers who buy a product through your affiliate link is a good way of increasing your affiliate sales.
As well as increasing your affiliate sales, you collect the email addresses of buyers who now trust you – because of the bonus you gave them free.
You collect really useful names. You’ve proved these people aren’t just curious browsers. They’re BUYERS. So you can now sell them closely related products. For example, if your bonus is Part 1 of a report, at the end of the report, you can tell them how to buy Part 2 from you. Or you can sell them a closely related affiliate product.
Another benefit of using affiliate bonuses is that because you’re getting more sales, you have a higher conversion rate than other affiliates and therefore you can outbid them on AdWords or other pay-per-click advertising.
If you’ve read Affiliate Project X and the ruthless Day Job Killer, you know that offering a bonus is one of the strong recommendations made by super affiliate Chris McNeeney.
Smart super affiliates lure customers to their affiliate link by offering a bonus report, a bonus email course, or a bonus of some kind, making their link much more enticing.
The big problem is that handling these bonuses is a completely manual process, says software designer and programmer Steve Diamond.
“The affiliate has to check email constantly in order to give good service for bonus fulfillment and has to manually verify the customer’s receipt number. It’s also awkward and unnatural to capture the customer’s email into an autoresponder during this manual process, so it’s hard to build a relationship for follow-up sales.”
Can you imagine a super affiliate wasting time doing this fiddly stuff MANUALLY every day? That’s crazy.
So Steve has created a tool which automates the whole process of delivering a bonus to a customer who buys a product through your ClickBank affiliate link. No installation is required.
You can get it here: Affiliate Bonus Manager.
Steve says that when he first read Affiliate Project X he immediately saw the flaw in the “leech” method (offering affiliate bonuses).
“I saw that if an affiliate is going to offer a bonus, then they are going to be tied to their computer day and night, with no vacations possible, and that they’re going to have trouble building an ongoing relationship easily and naturally.”
So he came up with a way to automate the process.
Affiliate Bonus Manager was originally launched as a standalone script which the affiliate had to install. That wasn’t very popular. Steve has now made the process much simpler and has re-launched it as a subscription web service, so there’s no installation required.
After a quick, easy set-up by the affiliate, Bonus Manager lets the customer self-serve their bonus because it automatically validates the customer’s receipt against the affiliate’s ClickBank account. It also lets an autoresponder subscription be an integral part of the automated process, thus capturing leads for additional sales.
Here are the main benefits of Affiliate Bonus Manager:
- You wow the customer with your service because they receive their bonus instantly.
- You can take a day off any time because there’s no need to check your email. The whole process is automated.
- You can stay offline for a day or a week or more if you want because there’s no need to log in. Affiliate Bonus Manager checks the receipt for you, automatically.
- You can follow up and get repeat business because autoresponder subscription is part of the natural, automated process flow.
- You’re always compliant because the prescribed ClickBank disclaimers are automatically included.
- There’s a very small monthly fee, well worth it when you consider all the time you’ll save, increased sales and the ability to follow-up easily to make future sales.
A couple of things I had doubts about…
First, you may wonder about the advisability of giving bonuses automatically. A customer could buy a product through your link, instantly receive your bonus and then demand a refund from ClickBank, while keeping your bonus. But does that really matter? If your bonus is a free report or free e-course, producing one more doesn’t cost you anything.
Second, to use this tool, you have to provide your ClickBank login details. I thought some affiliates might be apprehensive about this, so I questioned Steve about it.
Passwords encrypted
He says he’s added a paragraph to the site’s Privacy Policy that answers this concern:
“To utilize the Affiliate Bonus Manager service, subscribers enter their ClickBank login credentials. Passwords are encrypted for storage in our secure database. This information is kept at the highest level of security and is never divulged to anyone. It is used only to log into the subscriber’s ClickBank account for the purpose of verifying customer
receipts as valid affiliate sales.”
“That statement is 100% true,” Steve says. “For anyone who still has concerns, I would say that they can keep a close eye on their ClickBank account to make sure no one is hijacking it. I would also ask them to consider whether I have more to gain by running my service with integrity or by stealing commissions and going to jail for theft.”
Set a new ClickBank account
All the time online, we have to make decisions about trusting people. I have a good feeling about Steve. Anyway, many super affiliates have several ClickBank accounts. You could reduce any possible risk by setting up a new ClickBank account just for use with Bonus Manager.
Also, are affiliates allowed to offer bonuses? The ClickBank Client Contract says affiliates are not allowed to promise rebates, coupons, tickets, or vouchers in connection with their ClickBank purchase. When I checked yesterday, bonuses were not mentioned.
Steve has checked with a ClickBank executive and received the OK in writing. It’s acceptable to offer bonuses provided certain conditions are met. For example, the affiliate “must state clearly and prominently that the bonus offer is not the responsibility of ClickBank or of the seller of the primary product”. The details are on the Affiliate Bonus Manager website.
QUICK SUMMARY: Affiliate bonuses increase sales and commissions. Now you can offer bonuses automatically.
