Hi I am new here and hope I can get some advice/ direction on this..I want to set up a section on my website that only my team members can access. Do I need a special script or can this be done in the Cpanel area?

Thanks,

Put the code below at the top of your index.php page, then give your members the link:
http://mydomain.com/myfolder/?pwd=myteampassword:

<?php
if (pwd!="myteampassword") {
echo "You do not have access to this area";
exit;
}
?>

That's not the safest way to do it.

Cpanel has an option and you can use it to protect directories.

I'm not sure how it's called but you can easily find it.

It uses .htaccess and it's what you should use to restrict access to folders.

Benefits:

- secure
- you can add more than 1 user
- it's free
- it's very easy to configure especially if you have CPANEL
