Something mysterious happened and all of a sudden my site is missing in Google.

Earlier, my sites were on page 1 of google for selected keywords. My sites are nowhere to be seen in google now. No where in the top 20 pages. Even the blog results disappeared overnight. What could be the reason? I don't understand what could have happened to my site. Any body here faced this problem?

Any suggestion or help would be highly appreciated Crying or Very sad

I could happen if you don't update your site for a long period and then update your site more than normal. It just disappears for some days and comes back.

I think google is doing a dance. My traffic has been way down the last three weeks. Anyone else?

Back to my SERP problem, Last night on Sep2nd I had noticed that my site got its place back into the Google...this time on 2nd page. But it faded away from the results again on Sep3rd …no where again. May be something like DANCING. So presently what i could do is...leave that for sometime.

Most of the members feel that I should add the content to the site. But in my website I review the products ... so addition of the content on regular basis is not possible. Only possibility is that the content can be modified.

So keeping in mind, I've started a BLOG at [URL deleted - Moderator]. I used to post articles in the BLOG. Even that got good SERP. But last week, I've started a new blog [URL deleted - Moderator] thinking that a new domain will be fresh and separate.

So the present problem is should i consider updating the old blog which has url extension ....or should i go with a brand new domain.

Please do suggest me the BEST option.

Consider updating the old blog. But I do not think the problem is that you do not update the site content. There are many sites on the web that do not need to be updated and they still rank well.

All search engines are tweaking their algos and their are getting more sophisticated than ever.

So don't expect any improvements if you do not look deeper in your site issues which might not conform to the present changes/requirements.

This has happened to me before. I could not figure it out until I took a look at all the sites that I linked to. At the time I placed these links they had a page rank, but over the course of a month; two of the links I placed were grey barred. My website droped in the search rankings, so I removed the bad links and in three weeks my site was back to my origonal position.

Now I keep a comprehensive database of all my web assets in excel so I can track and update weekly my links.

Good luck I hope this fixes your problem
Cheers

Time spent worrying about what the search engines are doing, as far as I see it, is time wasted. All you've got to do is keep providing value to your visitors and you will make it eventually. Just keep it real. Over the years I've come to realize that fluctuation is a must, there's nothing you can really do about it and that you will never fully understand why search engines do what they do.

In this business called Internet Marketing (or whatever it's called), try your best to enjoy what you do and think about the positive. Remain focused and do not entertain any negative thoughts as they will only keep you back. I admit that I have been guilty of this but now I have finally seen the light. Very Happy

I was just curious if you were using a sitemap. It may sound simplistic, but I've found using a sitemap with Google seems to keep my sites in the search engines.

Although I do use the search engines, it's not the only way I market, so I don't worry too much about it.

Let me know. Sitemaps are the easiest way I know of to keep your site indexed.
