Hi
I'm thinking about starting a list and newsletter for my site ebabycentre. [URL deleted - Moderator]
I haven't had any experience with it before so can someone point me in the right direction of where to start, and what do I need to do it?
I don't know what script or code you need to get visitors addresses, and what program to write a newsletter - is it just an e-mail or do you need a special template or something?
What info do you put in there, just helpful information with affiliate links? Information that is already included in your website, changed around a little, or other information?
How often do you send them?

I would strongly recommend you to use a reliable autoresponder service for that, like aweber.
Then you have all you need, you only have to write the text of the mails then.

Yes, give helpful information, educate them about what you sell, presell to them. Give them value.
How often, depends. I would do it every few days. Almost all internet marketers do that, so it must be working good.
Maybe only at the beginning every few days and later in longer intervals.
I would say it really depends on what they expect when they opt in!
If they are hungry for information, why let them wait one or two weeks?
When it is an ecourse, they may want to learn fast.
If they opted in to get update information for a product they downloaded, and you said, they get also news or a special offer from time to time, then longer intervals should be better.

Using AWeber you can setup a 5 or 10 day email course on some aspect of whatever you are marketing. This gives visitors an incentive to signup to be on your list.
