Post subject: Paypal "Buy Now" Buttons

Hi, I figured this would be one of the best places to look for advice.
Does anyone here have experience using Paypals buttons on your website? I am just now trying to learn the easiest way to use them.
For example, if I have 1000 different vintage books I'd like to sell at various prices, is there an easy way to generate Paypal buttons for each one and have Paypal keep my settings so all I have to do is edit the price?
I just added 2 buttons, but each one took me about 4 minutes, and it seems like there should be a more streamlined process, but of course I'm a total newbie. _________________ ?dbC? |

First, with that many items, you should get a shopping cart - a real shopping cart. There are a number of free carts. With some you can just set up your inventory in a spreadsheet and import into the cart. And all carts will use PayPal as a paymnet method, without the hassle of creating 1,000 buttons.
If you are determined to go with the PP buttons, you can go into their merchants area and find a section on the HTML code for buttons. You can then either build from scratch, or build one and then edit to suit.
They keep "nothing" on you or your products. All of the info is within that button code. Of course, they keep up with your account, but all of the sales related info is within the button, not on their servers.
Again, get a cart, much easier to maintain. _________________ Dedicated Affiliate Hosting, Help with Pages, Free Templates $ 2 USD per mo.

I spent it, that's why I have to sell my old books.
Thanks for the advice on using a real shopping cart instead of Paypal's buttons. I'll look into it. Is there a particular one you'd recommend to a newb like myself? _________________ ?dbC? |
