Hello again forum,
I have some questions that should finalize my decision to buy into the SBI family:
Can SBI handle flash sites? I realize that my focus should be on content and not the visual appeal of the site, but I already have some templates to choose from.
Can I have subdomains on my SBI site?
(i.e. subdomain.mysite.com)
Is SBI capable of ecommerce stores yet? i.e. shopping carts, storefront templates, payment processing, etc.
Incidentally, what do you use to process payments with your sites? ClickBank? PayPal?
If I get a new domain through SBI, do I get to keep it if I decide to leave SBI after my year is up? Or is there additional fees, other than the transfer fee?
I understand that the brainstorm function is limited. I have other ideas for other sites. Would it benefit me to get a separate account with wordtracker, or is it cheaper if I go through SBI?
Sorry for the long post, but I cannot get into the SBI forums to ask all of this, and I am sure that many of the people that end up here want to buy SBI and have similar questions, so hopefully this thread will be active. Thanks in advance!

No... with one exception (see further below)...
You can "park" domains using Name Park It for $9.95 per domain per year. You can have unlimited subdomains with NPI to use as redirects (to hide affiliate links; like using a tinyURL). If, however, you upgraded an NPI domain to an SBI site you would lose the subdomains. NPI is only available to SBI owners and Sitesell affiliates.

You can either...
1) Set up any ecommerce store you want independently of SBI (ie., on a different domain and using different hosting) and simply link to it from your SBI site.
Or...
2) Set up an integrated store on your SBI site using Store Build It. This is the only time you can have a subdomain on an SBI site (eg., yourstore.yoursite.com).
Store Build It! Starter -
$99.00 plus hosting ($49.00 per year). There is a 15 product/5 page limit.
Store Build It! Manager -
$299.00 for ShopSite Manager, plus Manager hosting ($99.00 per year). Unlimited number of pages and products.
Store Build It! Pro -
$699.00 for ShopSite Pro, plus Pro hosting ($199.00 per year). Unlimited number of pages and products. Extra bells and whistles, including (I believe) hard goods and an affiliate program.
The ShopSite software purchase is a one-time fee. The annual hosting fees are (as I understand it) over and above the $299 per annum SBI subscription fee. The fees include integration into your SBI site.
Shopsite version 8.3 has been released, although Sitesell's documentation still refers to version 7.1. I don't know what the differences are, and I don't know if Sitesell intends to include the upgrade.
You can get varying levels of help with setting up and integrating a store from http://www.storebuildit-experts.com (although it doesn't come cheap, especially if you want them to do a customized installation).
There are two recommended "Transaction Processing Partners"...
For British, Continental European and Canadian merchants they recommend http://www.optimalpayments.com (formerly known as Surefire Commerce, which, for a time, was Sitesell's parent company - until Sitesell bought themselves out again).

Basically anything you want that does not require specialist integration.

You own the domain so you can transfer it away from SBI any time you want, with or without the site (just bear in mind that SBI sites are not built using ftp). If you allowed your SBI subscription to lapse, however, Sitesell would not renew the domain registration, so you would have to transfer it to another registrar if you wanted to keep it beyond the registration expiry date. So long as you maintain your SBI subscription Sitesell will renew the domain registration automatically.
There are no additional fees. Sitesell do not charge a transfer out fee. A third party registrar may, or may not, charge a transfer in fee, depending on which registrar you choose.

You get 25 free Wordtracker keyword searches with your SBI subscription. Your MKL (Master Keyword List) can store up to 1000 search results (you can delete the ones you don't want after each search, or, alternatively, you could export the results of each search in their entirety to a .csv (Excel) file, delete the results from your MKL, and then start a new search from zero).
After you have used your 25 "free" searches you can buy credits for more. I can't remember how much they cost, but I don't think they are prohibitively expensive.
Would you be cheaper using Wordtracker directly? I suppose it would depend on how much of a keyword search freak you are. If you are really going to be doing an extensive amount of searching you may well be cheaper with a Wordtracker account.

Hi Dan,

The function isn't limited, in fact I find it very very powerful. But there are some limitations:
1. You cannot have more than 1000 keywords in your keyword list
2. All data is put in one keyword list (although you can select the data retrieved for a single keyword phrase seed) which can be confusing if you brainstorm several unrelated keywords.
3. Getting Wordtracker data costs WT credit. You get 25 WT credits for free. If you run ot of that (yet to happen to me) credits are available for $20/100 searches or $50/500 searches.
I think this is the info you need to make an informed decision.
