I was wondering if anyone could explain how this site would have such high ranking in google...its listed as # 22 under keyword Home decorating

Hi Jeff

It will be because of the anchor text of links pointing to it. For example, the link to that page at http://www.isoccermom.com/decor.htm uses "Home Decorating: Interior Design".

I'm not exactly sure if they are exchanging links - I think they may be getting them because that site is possibly considered useful in it's niche. Either way, links are the most important thing in competitive areas.

Google generally places more importance on what other sites say about your pages than what you do.
