Post subject: Wow! This is truly powerful stuff!

I never knew the exact formula of success until I did this.
When I watched "The Secret" (if you haven't seen it Google it and find any and all means to watch it) I came across one of the teachers John Assaraf that teaches the course "The art and science of achieving your life's goals and dreams"
That being said I wanted to share the most powerful information I learnt in this post.
I will always remember this quote "the people who are successful are the ones that have their brains wired properly", it might sound a little weird but it is very true.
Success is all about conditioning the mind to new beliefs, visions, dreams and goals and what ways do we do that?
Well, for the majority of my life I have been told to just write things down and look at them every day to establish a clear vision of what you want but their is just so much more.
Here are some things that people can try:
> Record your goals and ultimate life (your dream life) in an audio program and combine your recorded voice on top of motivational music and listen to it daily
NOTE: always record, write and think about things in the present tense as already achieved.
> Create vision boards. This could be of anything that you want to be, achieve or do when you are able to afford it, have more time doing so etc.
> Write down powerful affirmations an read them in front of a mirror
> Visualize your way towards success. Take any spare moment you have to imagine and visualize your dream life and what you would be doing.
> Write down new beliefs and declarations that you need to change in order to achieve your goals
For ex. a lot of us have limiting belief patterns that get in the way of what e want in our life and thus prevent us from achieving it.
These beliefs are a results of environment and what we believe to be true for ourselves and our lives. For ex. you could believe that you are not good enough and will never amount to much due to what people may have told you, you may believe that you are not worthy enough to have massive wealth and so on.
Now, we don't need to identify each and every of these moments and change the belief but rather do the steps above and all that will take care of itself automatically.
I found it extremely helpful to be absolutely clear what I want in life and condition my mind towards that new belief and vision multiple times per day.
I suggest looking at your goals and doing the reconditioning process once upon getting up, another time in the day time and right before you go to bed
You will see a dramatic change take place!
You can check out that course I talked about by searching "The Secret" on google or something and then browse the teacher section for John Assaraf if your interested in finding out more.

For me, this was so true.
Years before we started our business, my wife, Joanna, and I went to a seminar where we were encouraged to figure out what our life goals were. We were told to work out what sort of lifestyle we wanted to have when we retired, and were taught a way to calculate how much money we would need to be able to afford that lifestyle. (You can find some calculators here: http://www.choosetosave.org/calculators/ )
We wanted to own our business, have a house by the beach, a holiday home, travel, and what then seemed like a totally impossible sum of money invested.
My wife, Joanna, and I did this analysis and set our goals but at that time we never really BELIEVED that we were capable of achieving them. It just seemed like a very nice fairy story.
In those days, I had no understanding of what we were capable of achieving - those limiting belief patterns you were talking about. Exactly!
What worked for me, many years later, was setting much more modest goals. As we achieved modest goals, this gave us more confidence, more belief in ourselves, and the confidence to set higher goals.
It was funny how in the early years my wife was much more pessimistic than I was, and then as the checks started arriving in greater numbers, her beliefs changed much more rapidly until she was more optimistic than I was.
Now we've surprised ourselves by far surpassing the original goals we made all those years ago.
They say reach for stars and you may reach the moon, but setting fairly modest goals and then upgrading those goals worked for me. Maybe it will work for you.
I think it's important to set goals you truly believe. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Yes.
100% agree with the above.
My only contribution to the discussion is the great value of the self discipline.

I have been studying and applying the principles of the secret for the last 6 months. I can only say the process is amazing. There is much more too it than just saying you want this or that...it is about figuring out what your heart wants - no matter what anyone else says and staying committed to it.
It is learning to become aware of all of the false beliefs you hold that keep you stuck not achieving what you desire. It involves learning the difference between wanting/needing and really desiring. Setting goals from the place of wanting or needing implies that you are lacking which is what you you will get more of if you focus on it. It is being grateful and accepting of what you do have so that you can come to a place of not needing or wanting but really desiring.
So often we don't know what we are thinking because most of it is really an unconscious process - we just react -like the act of driving the car. You can tell what you are thinking by the way you are feeling and then make a conscious choice to think something that makes you feel better.
It is a process.
I also have been a big fan of Sitebuildit! and have been making my website 'empire' and recently figured out what it is that sitebuildit! has that no one else has and that is that it is "The Secret". It helps you figure out what you love and then helps you bring it to life in a website and helps you keep focused on what it is that you do love, even when you are having one of those days!
It isn't easy and again it is all a process.
My complaint is that the people who are in the movie are all charging really high rates for their classes (like thousands of dollars) when you can really learn it by studying it all more - the history of it and there are tons of free ebooks out there and other resources.

I too have seen "The Secret" DVD, and can tell you that it is truly powerfull stuff. I have always been a huge dreamer, and while I have came up with a lot of ideas, my procrastination has always got in the way of implementing these ideas.
While i've already said that the secret is powerfull, it is of no use to anyone without taking action. Its no good imagining yourself driving that Ferrari 18 hours a day, because at some point you need to get off your butt and do something about it.
A problem with a lot of people is that we actually think too much. We live in our heads, analysing the past and imagining the future, all while "the now" is passing us by.
My advice then is to use tools like "The Secret" for inspiration, as well as planning, then switch off your thoughts and start concentrating on the now. There is a saying that goes "When you wash the dishes, wash the dishes". Think about that next time you wash the dishes. Most of us dreamers end up with a full stack of half clean dishes and at least five business ideas.
I usually listen to the secret at least once a week, it really is the kick in the pants that i need, but i've also learned to switch off my wayward mind and get behind my PC and do some work. |

Good point, it is very important to become clear what one really wants and make it a clear vision, but without taking focused action, it is not enough.
You can see a funny video about that in Mark Joyners (the "godfather" of internet marketing) Simpleology 101 (free), which demontrates that very good.
There you have to make an exercise:
Put a glass of water in front of you. Now imagine, how you will drink that water, how it goees through your lips and how good and fresh it tastes.
Then try to get the glass to your mouth with several techniques. Concentrate on the glass, and try to move it to your mouth with the power of your thoughts.
Then speak to the glass and say "You little sweet glass of water, peleeeeaase come to my mouth" or so.
Pray to the universe, that it should bring the glass to your mouth...
Finally, take the glass in your hand and take a sip.
OK, simpleology is about the second part, how to get organized, to set the right goals according to your visions and how to take action in a way that will be most effective.
He calls it "The science of getting what you want".
I can only recommend it, to me it's the best thing I've ever seen how to reach ones goals. _________________ Just COPY the system from Ewen Chia. http://www.AffiliateKickstart.com

Before The Secret became the rage, I was practicing this sort of visualization/goal-setting/etc. and it was sort of working for me. The part I was still struggling with was knowing that I needed to 'live in my future'. It was more than visualizing, more than planning and taking action steps.
It was living my life as if I was already there. It was imagining what it would feel like and living with those emotions, making your decisions as if you were already there.
For me at the time, several years ago, I realized I wanted financial independence and security, but I was living one step away from being homeless. I was worried, I was afraid, I sometimes couldn't sleep because I was downright panicky.
It was such a huge leap of faith to stop all those negative emotions and live as if I was already "there". I gradually got better at doing this. I realize now that I was attracting poverty, not abundance. I made progress, slowly.
Then one day I had an epiphany (sp?)and it came in an email. From a well-known marketer. She shared how she found the home of her dreams when she wasn't even looking. The key was that she had set herself up with 'aids' to be able to live in the moment before the 'moment' arrived. She wanted a home by the ocean, she played tapes of ocean sounds day and night in her home, esp. while she slept. Pictures, affirmations, etc. she used it all. Then she let it rest. She just carried on her daily life, work etc. as normal.
Her home 'came to her'. She still had to pay for it, etc. but she was ready for it and it came.
For some reason, her words made sense to me, I finally 'got it'. At that time I was stressed out over making a 5,000 mile move, with no money, no home waiting for me, no clue 'how' to make it all happen.
The 'hows' started to fall into place. I had nothing to do with 'making' them happen, except being in the right frame of mind, heart and body to allow them to happen.
Now when I feel successful, I truly treasure the moment and try to remember with all my heart, soul, body and mind what it feels like, and try to hold on to that, live in that moment. _________________ Chocolate makes you a better affiliate marketer. |

Great sharing.
In the past, I always want to get OUT of debt but got into more debt.
I did not understand the Law of Attraction.
In the past, I wanted to ignore the feelings that I hated my job but got myself so unmotivated that I hated myself for being such a person.
I did not understand the Law of Attraction
In the past, I wanted my husband to participate in my business but I did not understand certain tasks are not his strength but only felt that he is not committed enough to make our business a success. And guess what he became more and more uncommitted and finally I have to say I do it my own.
Things change when I became aware of Law of Attraction from The Secret Movie watched it many many times and understand why certain things did not work out in my life. Later, I wanted to gain more knowledge about law of attraction. I read up reports, watched other related videos, join groups of like minded people who have success in this concept.
Maybe this law of attraction thing is new here in this forum, but for people who have experienced it, we all know it works. It can also works in your business, your relationship, your health etc. FInd out more about it, practice it and attract what you wanted in your life. Thats my message!

It's all very true - I've done these things for years too. But there is one important thing that people fail to do after all the visualising - they fail to take action. Visualising and thinking alone will not help you achieve your goals, unless you actually do something to move yourself towards them. _________________ Catherine Lawson's Business Advice Blog |

Great post and very inspirational for me.
I used to do more of that in the past but got away from it when I got stuck in a job that I absolutely hated.
I finally walked away from the job as step no 1.
This post reminded me of the type of material I should be studying to get back on track to achieve the things that I really want in life.
Thank you. _________________ Russell Carter
