Hi all,
I've had a site up for about 6 months. I submitted to AdSense when it was first offered. I was rejected then. I'm sure it was because of too little content (<20 pages at the time).
I have quite a few pages up now with some affiliate links in place. I'd say I have "several" links per page. With this in mind, I was wondering if someone who has a 'feel' for Google's criteria would care to take a peek and give me an honest opinion if I should re-submit to Google yet. (URL in sig)
I've heard of some sites getting removed from Google listings because their site was rejected a second time. I sure don't want that to happen!
Thanks in advance!
Brett

Your site looks ready for Adsense to me. Very nicely done and great content!
I would recommend you email google adsense and request a re-review since you were previously rejected. Make sure and use the same email and include the domain you applied with (I assume the one you posted) so they have all the information.
Good luck,

I don't see a problem with your store page. You can always opt not to put Adsense on those pages if you want. I have seen many sites with store pages with Adsense on them.
As far as affiliate links, you should have no problem so long as they don't emulate the look of Adsense text links or come from a service that offers similar to Adsense text link boxes.
If you get rejected again you can ask specifically what you need to do to be approved, but I think you should be ok.
Just remember, no Adsense on pages with forms (as in a subscription page), on thank you pages, or pages that have links that emulate Adsense.
Hope this helps,

Hey Debs,
You must be pretty good at AdSense reviews, because I just got accepted! WOW, it only took a couple of hours too!
Thanks again,
Brett

On the topic of appropriate pages for putting Adsense on:
I have a page that's essentially a list of book recommendations. It's basically about 5 paragraphs of text, each paragraph describing an aspect of my topic, with a bunch of relevant Amazon.com book links after each paragraph.
Do you think Google would have a problem with me putting Adsense on this page? The book links are graphical, but don't look anything like Adsense ads. |

I have a page similar to what you describe and I don't have Adsense on it, so I really can't say. However, I can say that if they don't like it, you will receive an email requesting you remove the code from that page.
One thing more, pages specifically designed with multiple links out, and little text, are not liked well by Adsense. Without seeing your page I can't say whether I think your page falls into that, just look over the Terms of Service and FAQ on Adsense and then see what you think.

I don't know if there is any basis for this 20 page thing or whether it's a rule of thumb that someone got started
But for what it's worth, I have several one-page sites with AdSense and they are getting relevant ads. People from AdSense have visited the sites when I have had questions and they have not complained about a lack of pages.

Is this page on a site that has AdSense on other pages?

Brett,
It looks like you might have a typo on that page.
"I learned my lesson. I'll nevery wear..."
There is a "y" on the end of "never"

Oops! Thanks Bobby. I'll get that fixed right away!
I guess I need to go off and write "I will use the spellchecker" 1000 times

Bobby: yes, it is. Most of the other pages contain informative articles, but this page is full of book recommendations. I haven't put Adsense on it yet, for fear that it might not be appropriate.
It doesn't get that many viewers anyway, so I probably won't bother. |
