Post subject: My logo stolen and linked to someone else in Google Images
|
|
|
My logo, an animated owl, appears on every page of my site and has done
for several years. Looking for 'animated owl' in Google Images, I find
my logo has been taken, renamed, and linked to an artist's site in
Turkey - instead of to me!
My logo no longer appears on this Turkish artist's page, but the
renamed version must still be in his 'images' folder, as Google finds
it there. I've written twice to ask for it to be removed, but had no
reply. However, I now find that when I click the hijacked image for a
full size version in Google Images, it takes me not to the requested
full sized image, but to a site in Turkish that looks like a web design
company.
Anybody know how I can get Google to remove the link to Turkey from my
copyright image? If my logo hadn't been renamed, of course it would
still lead to me, but because it has been renamed, I can't get at it to
claim it back. _________________ Use the power of facial expressions and symbols

Thanks Allan for taking the trouble to help. Happiness and good health in the new year to you and everyone on this very useful forum!
The Google requirements for complaining about copyright infringements sound rather daunting. Maybe for such a trivial thing as a link from Google Images it might not be worth the hassle. On the other hand, it's the principle of the thing. I'll probably write to Google as I do object to my work being used to get traffic for others without my consent.
At least I know I made the image. I'm hoping an appearance in the WayBack machine at archive.org will prove that. I've been using it for ages. _________________ Use the power of facial expressions and symbols
