Post subject: Allan -- request involving your newsletter

Allan, I know you don't live in the states and I know your newsletters come out when you feel like it, but I wanted to make a request for you to take or leave.
As you know, the average person in the US is responsible for an awful lot of carbon dioxide emissions (= global warming) ... much more than the average citizen elsewhere.
Many of us in the US have to choose our power options for all of next year in December. We have a window right now. And because of the increasing concern about environmental problems, almost 50% of Americans now have the option to switch to green, renewable power using their existing power companies for 2007. Locally our deadline is December 29th for switching. I'm not sure if this is the deadline nationwide.
The problem is that this option is very poorly advertised. I actually had NO idea my power company offered green power until I sat down and watched Al Gore's movie, which a lot of people have done but certainly not everyone.
If you think it would be a good fit and feel inclined to mention this chance in December to switch to green power (for Americans), I think that would be a great thing.
Also if anyone sees factual errors in my post here I would appreciate if you point them out.
Also, Allan, perhaps you know some other marketers who would be willing to put out this reminder to their gigantic lists. I was thinking of writing John Reese for example. I spent a lot of money with him and all. But obviously John Reese would care much more if he heard from someone like you.
Thanks so much, Allan. Here in the states I think we tend to either "forget" about the climate problem or despair that we can't do anything. Like many people, I'm not in a position to buy a hybrid car today, but I can definitely manage the extra 1 cent per kilowatt hour that green power costs here. I think a lot of people could if they only knew about the option.
