Post subject: Customising affiliate links with ASP
|
|
|
I have a merchant who use ASP for their pages, my affiliate link looks something like this:
http://www.merchantsite.com/salespage.asp?af=me
I want to be able to deep link into their site and send my visitors directly to product pages so they don't have to click around the site trying to find what I'm recommending to them and get distracted or frustrated in the process.
The thing is the specific product pages already have a ?eid after the URL and I've tried tacking on my affiliate id on to the end but it doesn't work.
I contacted the merchant asking them for a way around this and that I need to be able to deep link, they told me to navigate to the page I want and copy and paste the URL.....
Does anyone know a way around this - I don't know any ASP at all. I don't want to have to drop this merchant because they are quite well known for having very high quality products.
It's Preplogic IT certification training and practice exam products if anyone is curious or already promotes them by some chance _________________ Make Music Online Yeah that's right - I said music! I'm a musician so that's my niche - what's yours? |

It's not up to you. It's up to the vendor to setup their pages to handle affiliate ID's on product pages.
If they don't have this for you, there is no way for you to deep link with an affiliate ID. You have to either deep link and lose the commission, or link to a general page and hope they find their way.
If the vendor is not willing to work with you on this, then I suggest you find a new vendor. _________________ Eric D. Burdo
