Hi All,

I would like to get into earning money online and I have a bit of an idea, but I'm a bit worried about how much I will have to spend up front.

I have found a product that I'd be happy to promote on Clickbank which would be on a highly searched keyword that has plenty of sites, but seems to have little or no competition in Adwords.

Basically, I would place Adsense ads, direct to a pre-sell page where I would add in my own offers to tempt, and then direct them to the product site using my affiliate link. (At leas this is how I think it should work).

Firstly, I'm worried about upfront costs and the cost of the AdSense ads. The reason why I want to get into this is to earn a bit extra while saving for a house deposit. Is it reasonable to budget for 100 clicks a day? How long should I persevere if the clicks aren't being converted?

Secondly, I'd like to offer people something extra to tempt them to go through my link to purchase this product. How do you go about getting these bonuses to the customer after they purchase the product?

I dont plan on creating content or getting natural traffic to this pre-sell page because the keywords are very popular, its just that there is little adwords competition.

At the moment its just an idea, I havent even looked into domain name registration or hosting yet.

Please let me know if you have any ideas to help me out or point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

d

If you never take action you will never know. If you lose $100 trying then you lose trying. Everyone wants the easy money. This business is not about easy money. It's about persistance and building. Few people make much money their first year. They learn and they build and they test. The money will come but you have to EARN it.

If it were easy everyone would be millionaires.

Look at this site you are on right now. It's the culmination of YEARS of work.

If there's actually NO competition, it could be because AdWords won't let you advertise the product. There's a fairly long list of stuff which AdWords says no to:

Yes. You can set a maximum amount you're prepared to spend. It makes sense to start very cautiously.

Depends on your budget and how optimistic your are. The problem is that the number of sales you get per 100 clicks won't be constant. You might get zero sales in the first 100 clicks and 2 in the next 100 clicks. After 400 visitors you should have a fairly reliable picture of the conversion rate for that keyword.

The usual way is to ask purchasers to email you the receipt and then send them to a page where they can download your free report.

hi funky,

Test, test, and test some more. You also might want to test several different ads to see which ad gives you a higher click thru rate.

I have to agree with Allan that you should have at least 300-400 clicks to test a product. And I usually wait a couple weeks of consistent coversion before I expand the campaign to other places.

The secret is to find keywords that are highly searched but have little competition. It sounds like you have so run with it.

Best of luck!

Thanks all.

When I do get my act together I'll give it a go for about 400 clicks and see how I go.

I realise that you should persist and experiment, however at this stage, if this doesnt work out I may not have the budget to.

Thanks for the advice and either way I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks,

d
