Yet another hassle. I have had an account with Yahoo for years. Too lazy to move it. But I finally figured I was just wasting money so I'd do just that. They offer very little in the way of webmaster tools so I cancelled my account. This was a couple weeks ago.
SUPRISE - I AM STILL BEING BILLED.
So I send off an email with my cancelation number and a copy of my bank statement showing the Errant Bill.
I get an email back requesting more informaiton. So I replay to that.
Today another response wanting more information.
I'm being jacked around. They have the cancellation number, they have my email address, they have my bank statement.
Comeon. I am so sick of companies billing me over and over on autobilling. And it's so damn hard to get out of their system.
This is not the first hosting company I have had to fight after I have moved to another.
You are probably smart enough to not use Yahoo hosting, but I got in with them at a time when Hosting was not cheap and it seemed like a good deal. Today it is not.
I doubt many of you would be foolish enough to join one of their expensive hosting programs, but be forwarned if you do don't expect any customer service.
And by the way I did call about another billing issue prior to my cancellation and I got a person on the telephone whose english was so bad I couldn't understand a thing she was saying - so I just gave up and hung up. _________________

You're right, they have terrible cust. service - the employees really haven't a clue about anything. I know because I've had Yahoo hosting for years, and recently started switching most of my Yahoo sites over. I got in with them years ago when hosting was more expensive, too. I do like their file manager... but it's not worth it!
Wow, I won't even go into all of the problems I've had with them - good idea to switch... good luck with it. I've been trying to downgrade one of my packages for like a year and it won't let me online, and their support says they are unable to do it for me - arghh... _________________ my affiliate marketing blog

Here I am a full week later. Promises of "expidited" service.
45 Minutes of talking to a supervisor last week and still no credit on my statement.
Next week I go to the credit card company to put a stop to this nonsense.
You would think 30 minutes, 2 telephone calls - the second of which was 45 mintues to a very condescending "manager" would have done the trick... But no!
More Canned responses and no action...

Yahoo used to be trustworthy.
I had problems with them too.
They are hurting for money & so they just take money that don't belong to them, hoping we won't notice. |

If you use a debit card it is even harder to get rid of the charges for you have to cancel the card and get a new one. This can be a pain if you also use the card for other business transactions. I know have been there. Might want to check the BBB to see if there is other complaints and file one yourself.

I never buy things online with my debit card.
Someone could wipe out your account & there's not much you can do.
With credit cards, you just do a charge back.
The BBB is old school.
No one ever checks with them anymore.
The people I know want to check AFTER they've been scammed. Its for researching to see if a place is safe to buy from. |
