How long do you spend submitting a new article to all the directories and ezine publishers you want to?

I've got it down to about 3-4 hours now, including some paid submissions that 'propogate' to other publishers.

Does that sound about right or am I doing something wrong?

I haven't really timed it but if I do it manually, I would guess that it would take about 2 hours or so.

But there are a few article submission softwares floating around the internet that you can use to cut the time down. Also, there are a few sites that will do it for you for free. For more information on these, see this thread

You can maximize your time by manually submitting only to directories that have a page rank of 4 or higher. Once you have joined all of them and are all set up you can submit manually to a directory every 5 minutes or so. If you submit to 100 directories it will take you around 9 hours.

Better to buy Article Submitter Pro and submit to over 100 directories an hour. Or join ArticleMarketer.com and submit an article to them in 5 minutes and let them submit it to hundreds of directories for you and you concentrate on writing more good quality articles.

I've actually just started making use of this article marketing
technique and I've realized it can be really time-consuming.

This thing I don't get is how article marketing software
can manage to submit an article to hundreds of article
directories when most of them have specific submission
guidelines. For instance, many of them don't allow HTML
so in this case submitting an article without having a live
link in your resource box is a waste of time.

I've haven't tried any article submission software yet. There
are problably some out there that do a decent job but I still have
to decide wich one is the best.

I've been thinking about ArticleMarketer.Com but I find their prices very expensive. How much is Article Submitter Pro?

But again, if you're on a budget or are just starting out, you can check out the free services I mentioned in my post above.

Article Submitter Pro I believe is a one time purchase of $167 with a monthly payment plan available. It includes lifetime update. It takes some time to register with all of the directories.

Then you still have to manually click on each one and ASP fills in the form for you. You can submit to over 900 directories in around 8 hours. Or you can submit to 130 directories with a Page Rank of PR3 or higher in about 1.5 hours.

Article Marketer can be paid quarterly, yearly or a lifetime membership as well. I'm not sure on the prices. You will have to look them up.

Article Marketer is the easiest thing I have ever used, but they are picky in how you submit your articles to them. Once you master that it is very quick. Maybe 5 minutes or less to submit to them and then they submit to over 300 directories for you.

The other thing is to find 5 of the top directories and submit by hand to them. Choose ones like ezinearticles.com, ideamarketers.com, goarticles.com, etc. You should be able to submit to 5 in 30 minutes or so. Pick ones that have a PR4 or higher.

jschuman...thanks for the tip.

I've also heard article post robot is also quite easy to use to submit articles. Many people say all that is required is 1 click of the mouse and you're all done.

Will have to check it out.

Here's another vote for articlemarketer.com. The thing I like best about it is I can put 5 or 6 articles in at once and set a date in the future to have them released. This way I can write all my articles I'm going to use for directory submissions and post them all at once. This will allow a natural growth of links over a month or more and I don't have to watch over it.

I also like the fact they don't submit you article to all the directories at once, they spread it out over a few days.

I personally submit all my articles manually, but instead of spending hours doing it, I choose one or two articles and try to submit to 5 directories each day.

That usually takes me around 20 minutes. That way I?m constantly building new links, not getting a rush of them all at once.

My style is sort of like Genesis' - I submit 5 articles at a time, manually, and submit them until I get bored with it, then do some more the next day. The links just keep on comin'.

This allows you to get into a bit of a groove with a particular directory, which speeds up the process quite a bit.

I think I'm going to go with the 5 a day thing as well, incorporate it into the daily routine Very Happy
Submitting 1 article for 3 hours makes my head hurt.

There's a phenomenon I run into if I have to look at my writing for too long, for lack of a better name I'll call it Writer's-Brain-In-A-Vise.

I don't care how great I think my article is, if I have to look at it for too long, the angst sets in. It's too long, too short, too confusing, too simple...you name it, I've thought it.

I married my husband for just this reason - he's such a cheerleader, he loves everything I do. He sits there watching tv, saying, "Don't worry dear, it's wonderful." Smile
