Hello again, friends !
I have a question: How long did it take for your site to be spidered after you created it? I am beginning to be anxious now; I have been up for nearly two weeks, my first product is about to be released, and my Search Engine HQ in SBI! says no spider has visited me yet. Never thought i should want that to happen, though... Very Happy
Can any of you with some time and experience on the net give me a hint about waiting times ???

If you mean SBI!, the answer is no. You can choose from several. For now i'm OK with the one I use; it will however be changed, but it's not first priority. Message (content) comes first.

It can take anywhere up to several months to be spidered and indexed by different SE's. Get some reciprocal links with other quality sites in your topic to help speed up the process.

You can also, if you choose, pay for submission to some of the SE's like Inktomi, Looksmart, Yahoo, Altavista, and others. This will also speed up the indexing for those sites, but may also help the indexing of your site by other SE's, particularly Google.

I would have to say the most nerve racking part about the entire web experience is waiting to be spidered and indexed. Smile

It can take anywhere from a day to many months. One way of speeding things up, is to be found rather than submitting.

Try including a link to your site from a regualrly spidered site - such as this forum. The spiders should then find the link and follow it to your site.

Cheers,
Charlie

I think it's Australian for "cheerio", but it was popular with students here in the UK many moons ago. (I lose touch of these things.)

Cheers (hic),
Charlie.
