Post subject: Has anyone built a database in MS-Access to manage ...

...their links and affiliate info?
I may be betraying my inner (and outer, for that matter) geek here...
I'm sketching out a database that I'll use (mostly) to generate web pages for different affiliate programs across different sites. Just so I don't re-invent a wheel, has anyone done this before?
Regards,

Well, I'm starting on a similar project. 'cept I don't buy into monopolist driven software, and instead my server is Linux with MySQL and Java/JSP.
The status right now is I have a JSP that uses the amazon XML interface in the background to download data on products, and uses XSLT scripts to format into my desired page format. I'm going to be researching over the weekend use of JSP taglibs to take this to a higher level, hopefully with better integration into a web editor (such as dreamweaver which knows how to interpolate JSP taglibs properly).

Have you checked out the O'Reilly book "Amazon Hacks" yet?
Regards,
Scott
P.S. Don't get too snippy about tool choices. I use what I know, and what
works for me. "I'd use a rock if it worked." |
