Post subject: Business Plans and List building
|

I'm soon to embark on list building, I'm pretty much decided on aweber as my tool of choice but I'm not going to jump right in. I bought the $10 teleseminar downloads of Keith Wellman and several other people he interviews which only reinforces my decision not to just jump in and start 'grabbing email addresses'- I want to work on building relationships from the very beginning.
The Ewen Chia seminar talks about the importance of making a business plan for your email campaigns, does anyone else do this and able to elaborate on this some more?
I'm looking for some resourses on list building in general but have maxed out my learning budget for a while- does aweber come with good tutorials? Does anyone know of some good reading materials about email campaign writing in general?
Thanks.

A couple things. If you want a free way service to manage your list you can use Google Groups. The service is limited but free.
Before you start it is good to have a plan.
What kind of people do you want to join your list? Stay at home mother's with small children? Online investors looking to learn new techniques? Be as specific as possible.
How will you entice them to join your list? What free information or service will you offer them?
What kind of products do you wish to sell them? _________________ 100,000 FREE Ebooks - No Email Required! |

I agree with hadden,
The good way to build a list is the groups, but the google froups are a bit less effictive, no much options lik eon yahoo, wow yahoo can controle your group effectively, and can choose a template (interface) and google has more members than google, I started on google and I chnaged to yahoo. msn also has groups but semilar than google one.
I advice to start by google, and As hadden said you have to think about what to offer people, for example I offer free-ebooks and free advices, for beginning dont offer your products, just post articles and files with your signature below.
and Dont spamm using software to hunt emails
Good luck _________________ http://www.1scroll.net

List building seams to be where it is at.
I have been actively building mine for a couple months now. I use getresponse and like them so far.
I have been giving away quality freebies that I created to atrracts sign ups.
My list is in woodworking so I offer people 5 free plans (that I created) when they sign up. plus a 6 part getting started guide for woodworking. That gets sent out every 3 days.
So, they get a freebie that satisfies the itch plus over the next two weeks my autoresponder builds a relationship with them. There is no advertising or "buy now" stuff in this guide. It is there to build trust and only that.
I plan to send out a newsletter once a month with a detailed blurb about a wood working project I built. Plus give them plans and everything they need to build it themselves.
I plan to monitize with adsense through the project write up and with affiliate links for any wood or hardware needed to complete the project.
Somewhere along the way I stumbled onto Jeff Walkers site and his "Six in Seven" program. Free and worth the read. _________________ Business Owners Guide to Going Online What every business owner needs to know about going online |

I would recommend making a product as soon as you can, and promoting it via JV. That is the quickest and most effective way. There are other less time effort intensive ways though. The whole free report thing still words like magic. You just have to make it enticing. _________________ Discover a Simple and Easy, Yet Brutally Effective Way to Build Your List FAST!

To answer Pete's original questions:
Having a "Mission Statement" for your list gives your list a focus. This benefits both you and your subscribers. I do it for all my lists, actually for all my business endeavors.
Aweber has excelllent help, knowledgebase, and video tutorials.
Ewen Chia is a sharp guy. Listen to what he says.
It comes down to this. You just don't start a list and make money. You get a profitable topic, a plan, and you follow it. Then see what works, what doesn't, and adjust your plan. _________________ Your Free Pass to the Members-only ListBuild List
