Hi,
I recommend you NOT to buy any bulk mailing lists. It's a waste of your time and money.
There are many other good traffic sources for you to consider: forums, ezines, ppc, etc. _________________ Gerardas Norkus

Safe lists are a very ineffective way to market. Most people who have subscribed have no intention of ever opening any of the emails they send and even if they do they are completely untargeted.
Put some effort in pulling people in to your website through other methods instead of using a style of marketing that is out of date. There are many ways of marketing that will get better results than safelists. _________________ Declan O'Reilly

The opt-in-lists are considered spam by many. A double opt in list may be an answer to this. Double opt in requires two requests before the person is added to the list, the initial subscription request, plus a confirmation of the request.
The advantages of double opt in are -
It reduces the probability of spam as the the confirmation process will help to ensure that people are only subscribed with their consent.
Identifies potentially more responsive subscribers those who are genuinely interested enough to confirm their subscriptions. They may also be more inclined to respond to your newsletter. |

Jeff,
The idea is to post queries here - NOT by personal email, etc - so that ALL members get the benefit of many answers from willing participants. Please keep that in mind. It's for the greater good that inquirers get a balanced set of answers where appropriate rather than from just one individual who may be quite biased.

I'm looking to start a list for one of my non-SBI sites.
I've got XsitePro and hosting and written an ebook I intent to offer for free in return for opt ins.
Can anyone suggest a good product to handle double opt ins and a way of managing my lists? |

I host with 1and1.com and they have a newsletter tool as part of the package i have (I got in on their 3 year pro plan for free promo). They give the option of a single or double opt in plus they have a handy newsletter tool. It isn't quite as good as the one SBI offers but works well enough. _________________ Business Owners Guide to Going Online What every business owner needs to know about going online |
