Post subject: Any tips on Adsense Ad filtering?
|
|
|
We are filtering ads in adsense and so we don't get clicks for $0.03 (thank god ) but still we get some clicks for $0.10. Any suggestions for ad filtering?? How can we get atleast $0.50 per click? |

that depends on your site topic... if all the ads for your topic is low paying, then i don't think you can get higher pay by filtering.
You may need to target for some high pay keywords:

Also smart pricing play a role in the EPC, if your page rank is low, you may not be able to get high EPC. _________________ Adsense Tips |

adsensepro
is correct...
Of course ADSENSE is based on CPC from the advertisers and they your site gets a revenue share and over the past several months it's become apparent that depnding on the angle of your site (review site, hobby site) you will make a different cut of the action.
So without targeting some higher words that are being bid on in Google Adwords you'll have a harder time with it. Now the other option is this...
You can stop trying to convert those cutomers to click on Adsense ads and push them towards an Affiliate purchase.
Since I don't know you niche I can't say whether this tactic is worth it but consider this... I do this on some of my sites, and I've run split tests it' works well.
Let's say you have a product you can sell that is on topic to your visitors and you get paid 10-15 bucks per sale... If you test this you'll be able to work out your numbers so you can say...EVERY 500 visits I generate a sale or what ever...
If in 500 visits you had 50 adsense clicks that's still only 5 - 10 bucks right? You're up one by selling the affiliate product actually up 5 bucks...
The other option is to build a targeted list on your topic and work in some e-course or newsletter, free ebook or something and begin to value sell your members that way...
Think out side the box don't get STUCK on adsense.

Thanks adsensePro and ihenman for detailed explanation and resources!
I do like the idea of directing them to affiliate site. This is an affiliate site, I am talking about... and we are testing out the usefulness of adsense ads. I like the test plan.
btw, here another site that lists low paying sites.

We have seperate channels per section of the website. THe same page got $1.25 for a click and then it gave $0.14 for another click. That's what puzzled me.... |

I've experienced that too...It does vary since it is a dynamic thing..sometimes you've got the high paying ads displayed other times no...No rhyme or reason as to why.
I'm going to have a solution to this sort of thing coming out on my blog in the coming couple of weeks a tool to be able to emulate Adsense for affiliates...
If you interested you can sign up to my notification list on my blog the links in my SIG.

one thing you have to bear in mind... don't put too many ad units on a page (unless you really have a long long page). The reason is by doing so, you are displaying a lot of ads (high pay ads mixed with low paying one)... and which one got clicked is not your control.
with less ad units, higher pay ads ususally show first. _________________ Adsense Tips |

AdsensePro is 100% correct in saying that!
Having a ton of ad units just for the sake isn't always smart...BUT if you invest a few bucks you can set yourself up with a nice little product to track your adsense clicks, what ad unit got the click, what URL they visited etc.
With that info you could even filter more ads out, and then also decide where the best position for the ads on your page is!
I use Adsense Tracker, but there are others out there as well.
