Nothing below 8,000 a month. But that's just me. Some people like to go after the micro-niches and garner that traffic too. Depends on what you like and how hard you wanna work for the larger traffic'ed keywords. _________________ 2009 Insider Secrets

number of serches is directly propotional to competition for that keywod .so it is better to choose niche according to your intrest not on demand available ..needless to say you cant have unique interest so you will find lot of visits for your website if you really have interest in it and if you provide useful information to world _________________ Tips to increase Affiliate earning |

Post subject: What's your source

| Andrea21 wrote: | Hi,
Thank you for replying. I agree that it's good to choose keywords with lots of searches, although I think I will have to also decide on choosing low competing keywords that can provide links to high competing keywords. |
The amount of keywords searched for depends on the source you're using. Overture, Keyword Discovery, and Wordtracker have different search counts. I usually gauge off of Wordtracker 24 hour counts.
Also look at how much you can make for the product you're offering.
For example, let's say there's 1000 searches a month for all of the keywords HIGHLY relevant to your site. Let's say you make 10 sales. From those, the company company offers you 10% of the sale on a bottle of $5 vitamins. So you make only $5 that month. That's only search engine traffic. ...but that's still not enough money to live well off of.
What if you had 100000 searches? Then you get $500? Now what if you sold an ebook on the most effective vitamin combinations and how to live longer off of them? ....for example. You price the book at $20. Not considering fees, and assuming you get 100%, 1% of 100k is 1000. Multiply that by $20. You get 20K that month. 1% is pretty low, but it's a good starting point. What if you converted 10%? Then you make $200k in a month.
Excuse me if that's too analytical....I have an engineering background _________________ Charles Amith

Hi Andrea,
Although this isn't about affiliate programs, I think some of the info I'm about to describe can help affiliate marketers as well.
Use the keywords to see what topics have a higher demand. After doing that, search related websites and forums to see what questions are being asked. In the forums, look for frequently asked questions or things you feel are important, but not quite resolved. Solve those problems with your book. I posted another topic on this board about preliminary research as well. You can use pay per click ads to find out what people want. Search the posts. _________________ Charles Amith

Unless the book's brilliant and you can make great contacts, I don't recommend a general approach. But how about breaking it down...
Write a general version and then modify it to appeal to niche groups, such as...
expectant mothers
impotent fathers
hyperactive children
injured sportsmen
malnourished vegans
over-imaginative Englishmen...
Anyway, you get the idea. The point is, you stand a chance of getting traffic for "vitamins for [insert subgroup here]". You can also target the sales approach much more directly and possibly even charge more for what looks like a specialist book.
In fact, perhaps you could get the rights to a generic book and just write bonus niche books before renaming and promoting the package.
This is an old idea that works very well with info products offline and on. With this approach, you can contact sites whose main focus is not vitamins, with a view to a JV for their group.
Hope this helps,
Charlie.
P.S. Personally, vitamins are not my thing. I've found my "see food" diet provides an excellent spread... _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."
