Post subject: What do you want in a web host for affilates ? Important

Hey Everyone,
I've be lurking on this board for around a few months just reading and so on, but I came on today to offer a SBI site for sale, that I am not using but I scrolled down and noticed the web hosting forum. I usually find the postings via google so I never viewed a list of sub forums on here. And noticed how unsatisfied and how much trouble people are having finding a good web host. Now I have moved on from affilate sites awhile ago, the few I have are on autopilot.
And started a small hosting company, I never really had much interest in the online type of customers because of the wide selection and outrageous overselling and abuse other companies offer. So I have focused and done very well with my local customers and never see a need to market much online.
However after reading some of the post in this forum, I realized that in spite of the seeming endless selection of web host online there is a serious need for a good host or a good host for affilates.
I am very familar with the big companies (1and1,godaddy,etc) hosting plans and prices however I did not know the restrictions or limitations on the cpanel and domains and other options.
So I know what makes a good host in my opinion, so I would like to ask as many that would like to answer, what do you look for in a host and what options are vital to your business.
Very few of my local customers ever look at their cpanel,so I never thought that a company would limit databases, scripts etc.
So maybe with the information you provide I could put together a plan or plan(s) that would meet the majority of affilate marketers needs.
And offer some type of trial and/or promotion to gain your trust.
But 1st things first what features or options are important to you.
Please be specific as possible. I'll tell you right now I do not offer 20GB disk space with 120 GB bandwith, and no shared hosting provider should.
So if you were to create a almost perfect plan what would it be?
Disk space
Bandwith
Number of domains
DB
email
price range monthly
etc.
Thanks,
Nick |
