Hello,

Currently I am planning an affiliate web site and am wondering if the "review your site" forum is worth potentially tipping people off to my niche and it becoming oversaturated? I have noticed the review site forum really doesn't get very many people posting sites for review... what are your opinions of this? Get a review? Or keep it secret and ask for tips in veiled posts as to not give away the niche?

In my personal opinion, I think that it depends. Do you feel as though you might need some assistance or suggestions with your site? If so, I think that posting your site in the review forum could be very beneficial for you. You could potentially receive extremely helpful and constructive criticsm from people who have been around the industry for a while, and know what works. I would personally be more interested in receiving free, useful advice as opposed to being somewhat scared that your niche will leak out. Creating and maintaining a thought-out, effective site will be more worth it to you then not asking for suggestions because of a little fear Smile.

But that is my opinion. Wink

I completely agree, you have to decide what will be the most beneficial for your specific situation. To keep it a secret, or get alot of very helpful advice. But the people on this forum are very cool, and i'm pretty sure they won't steal your idea.

I think the likely benefits outweigh any possible disadvantages.

Affiliates looking for ideas for a new website are not likely to look for them in a section where newcomers are asking for advice.

They're more likely to look for ideas in places where affiliate success stories and affiliate case studies have been published.

For anyone looking for website ideas, here's an article I wrote which should keep you busy for hours, or probably days.

Where to get ideas for an affiliate website:
