I was recommended xSitePro but I see SBI is a very popualr choice for web-site creation also.
Can anyone talk about pro and cons of each and there main differences.

Probably the best way to get the full skinny on them is to take a look at their websites. They are both GREAT programs with great features....too many to write in a post. In a nut shell, I think what determines which one people buy/use depends on whether you want to build one website (SBI-you can only build one site) or a bunch of mini sites (XSP). I find on my site, XSP outsells SBI at about a ratio of 10 to 1, but I think there are a lot of people building a ton of mini sites right now.
Look in my sig if you decide to purchase either. I give a $50 rebate and $1500 in bonuses on each one. It is the best deal for both these products on the Net right now....search around and you'll see that.

I agree with Jim on some of his info. Being an avid user of both programs I find that SBI is a fantastic program for anyone looking to get a start in the aff. marketing/internet marketing industry.
The suite of tools included with SBI is un-surpassed by any other program out there. The difficult thing is once you've done your first site with SBI and feel more confident that you know where you're heading you may not be so keen on spending another $300 bucks to start up your second site.
The building process while different uses a similar "idiot proof" system. THey both offer a check to ensure your page is well SEO'd (optimized for the search engines).
At the time SBI was first introduced it was a wonder for its time...with the traffic stats, link community (value exchange) etc.
Now you can join sites like linkmetro.com, linkmarket.net for links...on and off topic.
You can submit A google Sitemap to track your ranking and spidering progress with XSP (Xsite has a Google Sitemap feature kinda neat). Of course most hosting companies also offer AWstats now which track spider visits and let you know how many pages are indexed etc.
The BIGGEST feature you get though IMHO with SBI you don't get with other programs is the ability to check your ranking in the SE"s for you keywords and check WHAT pages have been spidered exactly vs. know a search engine spider showed up.
THere is other software i.e. SEOelite that will handle this.... but no on package...
So in conclusion if you're going to be building multiple sites and you're not too keen on the ins and outs of aff. marketing yet then SBI may be a great place to start. But if you have a little knowledge and general direction a few tools may do you wonders... I'd reccommend either considering
SBI or XsitePro & SEOelite

I would have to disagree with that statement. SBI is not just for people wanting to get started in affiliate/internet marketing. A quick look through some of the top SBI sites would suggest otherwise. Sure you can probably put together a site for less than the cost of an SBI renewal but you won't get anywhere near all the tools that SBI has to offer.
I have been involved in internet marketing for a few years. I have had sites hosted with other hosting companies which have been nowhere as successful as my SBI sites. Not to mention the hair pulling with technical issues and the lack of support that I have received from these companies.
I am not some internet 'newbie' and have a fair degree of technical knowledge. What I want to do is to concentrate on building successful sites without spending hours trying to figure out ASP or PHP or why I keep getting errors when trying to install something onto a server!
Some people will prefer X Site Pro or SEO Elite. For me SBI does all I want and has helped me create very successful sites.

My apologies if you took my post as a direct HIT toward SBI users...As I stated I am an SBI user and 4 years ago when i got started it was the tool that really straightened me out.
I like to work on multiple projects it's my nature I can't focus on one or 2 sites to build everything...so I put my eggs in different baskets... I agree that SBI is a great suite of tools...What I am also saying how ever is that with the proper selection and guidance you can find all of these tools else where just not in one nice little package 
However if you build, 10, 20, 100 sites..SBI can get expensive..and that is a nice chunk of change to keep in your pocket..NOT saying that your revenues/proftis from these sites won't cover the costs...but if you can do it for 100 bucks rather then 300-400 bucks why not save the extra dollars.
Now as for some of the features that SBI has Vs. Doing it on your own:
The right hosting company won't let you down however a lot of them will
Host Gator was that company for me...Although it took me 4 different ones and some frustration to find them
A program such as SEOelite will get you all the info that SBI can get you for pages indexed ranking for particular keywords etc etc.
Learning AWstats can show you when the spiders are coming to gather info from you.
As far as learning PHP/ASP etc. I personally don't feel that either of these are required when building SE friendly affilite sites, myself I do have some PHP background that has helped me but it's for sure not the be all end all.
IMHO the reality of the web today and tommorows internet 1-3 years from now is going to be quite different... And people using SBI are in a reasonably good position...they have complete/competent content rich sites.
The days of throwing up 50 sites with little to no valuable content, and expecting to make a bunch of cash of it are on the outs.
I think for those that want to learn the ins and outs SBI has it's drawbacks as well... it does what it does well...but the difficulty to work with some items in the development process is a bit of a hinderance.
Again ... contrasting both... they both have pros and cons...I use both and have success with both... |

No need to apologise. You make some relevant points. For people such as yourself who are working on multiple websites SBI may not be suitable. But for people who want to build solid content sites it is great value.
I have a couple of other sites (not yet ranked) hosted on Go Daddy but I am thinking of pulling them and hosting them on Host Gator instead. I admit for what I am trying to achieve such as having WordPress and other things this is the best route.
Anyway I have to thank you for putting forward an alternative viewpoint. Its been a while since we had an 'SBI Vs. Other Hosts debate. A lot can be learned from such discussions.

I am torn here. I was set to buy SBI during the christmas season specials then I bounce upon xsitepro around the same time. I have not purchased any as yet, however I am leaning towards to xsp.
What I am confused about is that xsp claims that you can build 10 websites.
Does that mean that from that single purchase of xsp I could build 10 different sites with different domanin names and how about hosting, can they all be of hosted at 10 different webhosting sites too?
Some one help me here please.

XPro is about creating the websites; you can do as many as you want; hosted whereever you want. It is basically a site design tool similar to Frontpage or Dreamweaver but more for the newbie than either of the big packages (FP OR DW)
SBi is about building a business more than just a site or many sites and has a lot more tools than XPro does; SBI helps you to market your site, research keywords, monetize productively and a whole lot more.

Hello all, I'm thinking about going with XPro. It looks as tho it has a lot of functions SBI is lacking in my view. I am interested in Host Gator. Is this really a good host and what size account would be adequate?

As this post has illustrated Charles the two are difficult to compare on the same level. If you have a plan of building 1,2,3 or 10 smaller content sites say 15-50 pages each then Xsite Pro will be less expensive...How ever if you're a complete newbie SBI helps people along the way almost like a HOLD YOUR HAND sort of idea...
Host Gator is a great host..(of course that's just my opinion someone will disagree) if your just starting out go with their Baby Shared Plan, that will allow you multiple domains on one account. So when you're set to build your second site you won't have to upgrade or get another hosting account right away.

I have XsitePro but haven't used it as yet. Presently dabbling with Dreamweaver. I think XsitePro and SBI are two different tools altogether and a comparison won't do any of either packages good.
This i think is mainly because the creators of XsitePro have projected it as a 'website monetization' tool reather than a website building one. XsitePro helps in easy creation of websites with no HTML knowledge. SEO is made easy with the keyword density analyser and the Sitemap tool.
And the comparison ends with that; SBI is not a web-publishing tool; It's emphasis is more on building a business rather than building a website. This is achieved through the suite of tools that they offer which are invaluable.
They and fellow users also offer you real world advice which you cannot find in a website building tool, mianly through the owners forum and very useful newsletters. You can also find some enlightenment through Ken Evoy's Ebooks (creator of SBI), some free, some not (but worth the money). I belive many have found it difficult in customizing HTML and uploading but many successful SBIers will say otherwise.
This is not to undermine XsitePro's capapbilities as a easy website builder.
So if your priorities lie in easy and fast website building and management and less on promotion stuff, XsitePro is the way to go.

As a newby to affiliate marketing I'm learning the ropes with SBI and am very glad I found it.
Before I discovered SBI I bought a few domains and have some hosting that I already paid for up front which is at the moment figuratively 'gathering dust'. Would it be worth me getting Xsite pro and creating some mini sites for them?
My SBI site is my main focus but like the above poster I like having a few little projects on the go |

I love XSitePro, but from the research I've done on SBI, I think that anyone who is just starting out in business would be better of using SBI. I'm tempted to try building a site with it just for the nosiness factor.
