I've been having this problem for a while and I think many SBI users have had the same problem.

When I'm trying to optimize the pages,I quite often get messages like,"..keyword does not seem to appear in the first 90 charactors..."
or "..not enough keyword in the first 500 charctors", or"...keywords appear too often in the first 90 charactors.."

Sounds familiar?

My problem with SBI is that when it says that keyword(s) does not appear in the first 90 charctors and when I include "one keyword" in the first 90 charctors, then it would say either,"keywords appear too often in the first 90 charctors" or "there are too many keyword in the first 500 charactors and you need to eliminate certain # of keywords".

Even if there are some keywords in the first 90 charactors,it still quite often says that there aren't keywords in the first 90 charactors.

I add one keyword,it says it's too many and I eliminate one keyword, and it says there are not enough keywords.

It makes me feel like "Dumb if I do, Dumb if I don't". Sad

Sometimes,I accidentally or luckily I got approved by SBI,otherwise I just give up doing it. I even count the # of charators to make sure there are one or two keywords in it,but SBI quite often doesn not recognize it.

So,if you have had the same experiences/problems,how did you cope with it?

I wouldn't mind spending time to optimize the pages, but this "glitch" seems to be a wate of time.

I appreciate any advice to help to solve this problem!

Thank you.

I've had this problem and after a lot of yelling, I solved it by adding more content. The number of keywords seems to be proportional to the number of words (or characters).

Hope this helps.

One thing I found with SBI is if you use line breaks <br> to move a longer headline into two lines evenly, it won't recognize the keyphrase unless it is before the break.

In your content block for the top of your page, make sure no extra lines are above the beginning paragraph, or SBI counts it as beyond the 90.

I've also had the same problem with 1 is too many, 0 is not enough. More content took care of this problem for me too.

Never give up mate Smile

Trust me, it does get easier the more times that you use it.

Don't know if any of the following will help....

Always try and make your content at the very least 250 words.

Always copy and paste from a text editor, not Word.

If there are two or more things that don't pass AnalyzeIt, it will deal with them separately. For instance, it may tell you that you have your main keyword, or a root of it, too many times in the first 500 characters.

You fix that. Run AnalyzeIt again, and this time it tells you that you have your main keyword too few times in your body Smile

It does get easier, honest. Smile

All the best,
Larry Chamberlain.

Make sure you use correct spelling and capitals if you use capitals and low case if you did not. This might sound stupid but i wasted an hour optimizing simply becasue i did not do this.

I never use caps in my keywords, and always do in my headings. I only capital the first word of each sentence in my title and description. I have never had a problem with SBI recognizing capitals.

An extra space, or using dashes and commas, between your keyphrase words will keep SBi and the SE's from seeing the keyphrase properly. Dashes in the page name itself (i.e. page-name.html) are read as a space by SBI and SE's so that isn't a concern.

The point about the <br> is true, if you use it in the <h1> heading tag of the page, SBI will not recognize what is after the <br> as part of the keyphrase.

Keep in mind that variations of your keyphrase, or part of your keyphrase, can also kick in notices from SBI, such as:

keyphrase widget lovers

Widget lovers will find the best green widgets, red widgets, and blue widgets to satisfy their love of widgets.

SBI would see you having 5 widget and 2 lover Wink because of the base.

Hope this helps,
Debs
