My 2 month old SBI site is now getting about 100 visitors
per day
Only listed in Google so far so I expect a jump
in traffic as time goes on.
149,578 in Alexa today
Money started to roll-in Nov.01
I've made about $190 so far this month
About $10 of that from book sales at Amazon.com
They say gambling sites are very competitive
but I think there's always room for one more
PS I couldn't have done it without SBI
Thank You Debs, Charlie and everyone else for your help

As your name says....
Go Dave Go!!!!!
That's awesome. Isn't it the most amazing thing when you see those first sales come in? I've been at it for about 6 months now, and every new sales still brings a smile to my face.
You're likely to see an increase in your number of visitors as Google indexes more and more of your pages. MSN will bring some traffic (maybe 20% of what Google brings) and sadly, most of the rest are quickly becoming insignificant from a numbers standpoint.
You're off to a fantastic start. Add as many pages as you possibly can, then when you've exhausted all of your resources, start a new site and do it all over again!
You now have the blueprint of how to make money on the internet. I sincerely hope you move quickly up the ranks of this poll.
Sincerely,

Godavego,
Thanks for the update on your site. Glad to see you are heading toward the profitable side It's always a great feeling to see money come in, but when you turn profitable, it's inspiring!

Congratulations on the good results!

So do I. As long as you are imaginative, ambitious and patient, picking a competitive area can actually be a good idea. Competition usually means there's money being earned. Competition in the PPCs virtually guarantees it, branding excepted.
Consider the other extreme... high demand, very low competition. These scenarios make me nervous. I ask myself these questions...
Can this concept be monetarised? If so, why is no-one else doing so?
Is this a genuine new market? If so, is it just a passing trend or the start of something real?
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

You are so right on this one. The popular mantra these days seems to be "Find a niche with high demand and low supply".
What's being left out is that you must be sure that your niche is looking for 1) a product or 2) a solution to a problem. If you find a niche of people just looking for more information about their particular topic, you'll never be able to monetize it.
A good (old) example is Corey Rudl when he talks about finding a niche of people looking for high quality Ferrari emblems without paying the outrageous costs from Ferrari itself - a perfect example of a niche group begging for a product to be sold to them.
Since most people surf the internet looking only for information, there are tons of pitfalls for new internet marketers to fall into. This one seems to be growing the fastest these days.
The good part is, once you've built one successful site, you have proven that you know how to spot the difference and you will likely be able to continue to find niches that can be monetized.
Take care!

Hello Mike.
Great points...
| Mike Long wrote: | | What's being left out is that you must be sure that your niche is looking for 1) a product or 2) a solution to a problem. |
Also that the people you are targeting have the authority and the money to pay for the solution you are offering. The former tends to be more of a problem with businesses, the latter is a big problem with the home business sector and certain other consumer markets. Try selling something to "poor" students, for example.

Certainly not without a great deal of preselling via multiple page reads and or visits. It's the same reason keyphrases including "free" are cheap at the pay per clicks. It brings a whole new meaning to "targeted traffic".

Just look at the SBI! philosophy. I think there is not enough emphasis on the monetarisation aspect compared with the traffic building. Both are equally important if you ask me - neither is worth much without the other.
All the best,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Interesting - looks like there are people from all sides of the spectrum. I wonder how many people who answered less than $250 earn $0? _________________ Wealthy Affiliate Review
