Oh, the mystery world of Drop shipping. They promise you everything and then you get stuck with all the expense, which adds up to every penny in your pocket.
First of all you got to get either catalogs, or a website to advertise the products they want you to sell.
For catalogs:
a) got to buy your mailing list.
b)got to buy their catalogs, at a high price
c)got to label every catalog with your "business name"
d) got to adhere every mailing label to each catalog
e)got to pickup that heavy box and take it to the post office
f)got to pay for stamps to mail out catalogs
g)Sit down and wait for your orders
h)Get dissappointed when you only get 1 response from 1,000 mailouts
For website:
a)got to build your website
b)Get a merchant account for your website
b)got to generate traffic to your website, either free or paid for
c)Find out which is the best way to generate traffic
d)Join forums and learn from IM
e)Sit back and relax waiting for your check in the mail.
These are only a few of the things you can enjoy from a drop ship business. I am sure others have other point of views which I must have missed.
Good luck in your drop ship adventure. _________________ 3 easy steps to own your own business online.

| I have a question about World Wide Brands. I was reading the Start Your Internet Business Right ebook and it mentions that you need to obtain a tax id. That seems like an awful lot of legalities to go through just to have some stuff drop shipped on ebay. To anyone who has signed-up at World Wide Brands; what has been your experience? Did you actually need a Tax ID or would some people on this list deal with you without one? |

Tax Id's are the IRS' way of tracking companies, and their sales. They have been around since before the controversial subject of tax on interstate products truly gained momentum.
Every company that starts up must have a tax id #. To obtain one is fairly simple, log on to www.irs.gov and fill out an IRS Form SS-4. Also, for whatever state that you have a business address within, you will need to fill out a very similar form (These vary from state to state). A good resource for the specific form for your state is www.taxsites.com (click on "State and Local Tax")
Most offices issue the number via mail within three weeks of receipt of the SS-4, or if you are in a big rush, you can call an IRS representative at 866.816.2065 and file over the phone.... (If you go this route, I would recommend having a completed form in front of you before calling!)
Not a very difficult process whatsoever. _________________ Rome wasn't built in a day |

No, anyone from outside the US is exempt.
You do have to pay tax on your earnings in your own county though.

OK, but when you sign-up for Commision Junction and the like they accept your SS number if you are just an individual. I'm not looking to start a business. I just want to try this out and see if it works. If things take-off, then I would be fine with getting into paperwork.
Miles, while your answer was helpful it didn't really answer the question that I had asked. What I want to know is will some dropshippers deal with you if you don't have a Tax ID in the beginning? |

Here's the thing with World Wide Brands, they aren't looking for people to "try it out". They want serious individuals for there dropshippers. Having you go and get a Tax ID/Reseller's license shows that you're serious in wanting to start a business.
It takes time and money to pay the customer service people of the dropshipping companies. They don't want to waste their money on random people looking to make a quick buck. They want people who are serious on an online/offline dropshipping presence.

More then likely...no. Getting a Tax ID really isn't that big of a deal. Took me just a few hours and I was done. _________________ 2009 Insider Secrets

I guess it depends on how you define Tax ID. My personal SSN is a tax id; my company's EIN is another tax id. For purposes of documentation and tracking, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get an additional tax id via the instructions above to make sure everything is separated ok.
To a company that would drop ship orders for you, it makes no difference to them whether they have an EIN or SSN - they're all 9 digit numbers.
But something that you WILL need to go out and get to drop ship in most states is a "Vendors License," and some people may also call this a tax id. Every legitimate drop shipper I've worked with has either requested my vendor's license # or asked me to fax a copy of it to them. This document allows you to collect and remit sales tax in your state.
The drop shipping company needs this because if you didn't have it, they would have to charge you sales tax on every order they ship for you. _________________ Robert

one of my friend made good money in visiting cards dropshipping . market price of 1000 visiting cards is about 15 usd .. but businessman from whom he is buying gives it to him in just $6 usd. so he sells in $10 .so reason of his success in dropshipping is that manufacturer of the product is selling it at extremely low prices . so he is deliver to sell products cheaper than market prices . so i think if you can identify a product whose market value is high but you can get it cheap then you can make cool cash in drop shipping .
best thing about drop shipping is that you can commission for sale in advance no need to wait for cheque .worst is waste of time by replying queries of buyers and listening there complaints about products _________________ Tips to increase Affiliate earning |

Post subject: Chris Malta's Directory.
|
|
|
I Have no problems with defending Chris, and he does not need my help here, in this forum, at all, but I would like to get the last word in, anyway.
As an affiliate marketer, I make my online coinage by being an affiliate, so it is my choice, and decision to pick and choose who I affiliate with, and so far Chris Malta's has still been the best that I have affiliated with. Here is why...
1) Chris worked very hard on his own to create a directory of real drop shippers, and he did a great job of it, and is still doing so, to this day.
2) As a web developer, I often build websites for those who are selling their product online. Some of them are companies that are from the ground up, and appreciate the business that they get from folks who want to redistribute their products online. This is free advertising to some of my clients. So far, my best client is really happy with the fact that others are selling his product online through other internet euntrepreneurs that found his product through Chris Malta's directories. (Notice I did not use the word "list" here?)
3)Chris Malta's affiliate program (Now , cummon, is this not what this forum is about?) Is still my top to promote. Why? For someone like me, who can get on the internet, and make some really good money, The WWB affiliate program has not only been the answers to my prayers, but has been the income that has really turned some desperate situations into some really happy families. It really does , and still amazes me, when I receive a check from Chris and gang, after all that they have been through in the last year or so. Just tells me that I am affiliated with a man who bases his life, and business on Honesty and Integrety. I don't know Chris personally, but in my ten years on the net, I am very content with knowing that someday, we will be riding off into the same sunset.
I do not blame Chris for getting a bit pissy with someone who wants to talk alot af bull about something they know nothing about. I would investigate Chris Malta's Directory before I would start running my mouth off like a few did in this forum. Of Course, it is always easy to blame others for your own failure, but alot wiser to take a look at yourself.

Chris Malta's program looks like it is definitely a good deal. The directory of dropshippers an excellent tool. However, I would give the program a C-.
I personally have found another program that works similar but easier than dropshipping.
A FREE NO RISK home business opportunity which I have grown to like is with SFI. More info about the opportunity can be found at [URL deleted - Moderator]
You get your own free franchise with a free online webstore already created for you filled with products. You don't have buy the products you will sell, you don't have to take orders or mail orders, all you have to do is advertise. SFI will do the rest for you. It is really a special opportunity.
Among other things, you will learn how to earn income globally, 24 hours a day ? both "front-end" cash AND ongoing, "back-end" residual Income ("do-it-once, get-paid-forever" style income). I like this better than other home business opportunities I have done, including dropshipping. |
