I came to know that Pinging is a method for Blog sites to be indexed in Yahoo. Is it true? If so, then Pls, express your expert guidance here. It will be highly appreciated.

You have a couple of options here for blogger blogs etc.

http://pingomatic.com/

Will do an excellent job if you just want to ping each page or the home page once.

Now if you're using wordpress then there is a built in PING function that you can add lists of sites to ping each time you publish a page. In the WP-ADMIN dashboard gotooptions then writing tab and at the bottom of that page there is a text box to enter update services. This is where you can put the sites to ping.

here's a list of a few I'd add.

I initially used pinging to only get my site indexed i nyahoo and google. I created a blog in blogger and posted links to my website. My website was crawled within 2 days of posting my links in the blog. But i believe you should not solely post tons of links in a blog and ping, or else you'll be penalized by SEs.

I suggest creating a blog through blogger or any other services. Then give the SEs and Your visitors( if any) a readable experience of builiding your website. Let's say you have just built a website on animal grooming and you want to get it indexed; Start a blog regarding this topic. and make regular posts along with links to your webpages and include content such as what could be found in these pages, your experiences in animal grooming etc etc..Keep both the SEs and your visitors happy. use pingomatic.com to 'ping' whnever you make an update. It is definitely an easier way to get your site indexed.

hridoy,
A search, see the button at the top, for ping, blog brings up 47 results of which this is one: http://www.associateprograms.com/discus/ftopic8714.html

You can get a lot of unnecessary duplication of queries and responses by not searching first.

THEN you can ask specific questions to round off your knowledge.

Needless to say, members have rushed to help.
