I referred a friend to elance, and when I checked my stats there was no
indication that I referred them to their services. He had spent a lot on
having articles written.

I sent several emails to their affiliate and customer service depts with his login info and my affiliate login info (you would think that there would be
some validity since I know the login info). They would only send back emails
which said that there is no record that he signed up using my referral ID.
(I sent him my affiliate link in an email)

They made no attempt to correct it and have since stopped answering my emails.

I guess it's good to know how they treat their associates early on as, I won't
be recommending their services in the future to anyone. If they don't care to rectify a situation - I even asked to test the link out as maybe there may be something wrong, but didn't get any response with that either.

Anyway, I'm very unimpressed with their affilate program. It's too bad
too, because I'm going to be recommending some sort of outsourcing in the future to many of my clients.


Anyone had any luck with programs such as scriptlance, rentacoder, etc?

i tried scriptlance and php-script before.. both are great place to seek freelancers.. but i never tried referrals there

Did he clear his cookies before he used your link? If not, and he was ever on the Elance site via another affiliate link even from a search, another associate may have received the credit.
