Post subject: A question about cross-linking
I have been reading "Nothing but Net" by michael campbell.
In it he refers to having mutiple sites and cross-linking them. I have read a few postings here about the no-nos of cross-linking and therefore have some questions.
To clarify my understanding about cross-linking between sites:
1. you can link sites if they are related; for example: a car accessory site can link with a car audio site
2. you cannot have duplicate content on a different site and link the two; for example list the same articles on one site and create a different domain name and list the same articles and link the two
So I guess the main question is:
Is cross-linking okay if it does not violate these two basic conditions?
Who is using cross-linking and how are you employing it to avoid SE penalties?
