Maybe some of you have known:

Google adsense offer Referrals program.

Depends what topic of your site is.

I'd be hesitant to use my ad space to promote a program that a majority of visitors wouldn't be interested in.

This would lend itself good towards site's like Allans, but I'm not sure about consumer product/service niches.

I have tried promoting it and I can't see it being on my site to long.

I hardly get a click on it due to so many people already knowing about it.
