Post subject: Using Subdomains for sites
|
|
|
Hi Folks,
I am building a site that will service a particular industry in several States.
I need some advice. If I build a site, say abc.com. Can I build other State sites with sub-domains....example... texas.abc.com, oklahoma.abc.com
Now the question: Will I get dinged from SE for the sub domains. Will the SE see the sub domains as a site on it's own and will I be able to do SEO by submitting texas.abc.com as a seperate site.
Your views and suggestions welcome!
Thanks. _________________ www.mgreer.com

I've generally heard that subdomains are regarded as separate sites to the search engines. But I've also heard that if they penalize something like "www.site.com", then all of your subdomains for site.com may be penalized, too. _________________ Robert

Thanks for your input, that's what I was thinking, but wasn't for sure. _________________ www.mgreer.com
