Post subject: Adsense & CTR Query
|
|
|
Hi all,
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but what would be regarded as
a reasonable CTR% when using adsense ?
Would you be happy with 5%, 10%, or would you be looking
for a higher % click through rate ?
At the moment, mine's around [Deleted. Admin.] - is this ok or not ?
Thanks
John |

The answer is - and you already suspected it - that depends upon a lot of factors.
I know publishers who would leap for joy with [Deleted. Admin.] CTR - on many of my sites I would think that was a slow day. Much of it depends upon the niche your site covers, the size of the site, how good is the content, how competitive the market, etc..
Without a lot more details there just isn't a way to give you a better answer - sorry. _________________ Oops, did I say that outloud? Sorry.

you can not go over [Deleted. Admin.] without using aggresive placements and
more units on the same page.
on sites where I try not to push ads in front of users, I get at most [Deleted. Admin.],
[Deleted. Admin.] - I think this only can happne by chance or if you really know how
to trick the users _________________ SEO Directory | SEO Scripts |

Just a reminder everyone...
Discussing AdSense click-through rates is against the Terms of Service which you agreed to when you joined AdSense.
Yes, I know it seems ridiculous. Don't blame me. I didn't write the agreement - I just don't want to be thrown out of AdSense.
Anyway, in my experience, the details I deleted were wrong. On some sites you can achieve very good click-through rates by placing the ads prominently and creating very simple pages to ensure the ads are seen. No tricks are needed. _________________ Allan Gardyne
