Hi,

Could that person be Mark Joyner, Allan?

I remember him saying that in one of his ebooks. Goes back into his army days.

I hope this isn't getting off topic. It IS about increasing how much you make in Internet marketing. It's not about affiliate programs, but much of the advice can be applied to an affiliate business.

The multi-millionaire marketer I had in mind was John Audette, former moderator of I-Sales. I met him at a conference in Hawaii, just after he'd sold a couple of his businesses.

At the conference, he introduced "John Audette's Sweet 16 - Principles for Building a Successful Internet Business".

They start here
http://www.marketingwonk.com/adventiv/sweet16/priciple01.html

I reckon those 16 principles are worth reading and re-reading many times.

Hope that helps.

i have been watching this thread for quite sometime now. only now that i cast my votes. don't really know why. but somehow, it's comforting to know that may others are like me. i thought a lot of people here are in the >$1000 category. i'm in the $250-$500 category. never really break $400 actually. but i'd like to break $1000.

it's great and comforting to virtually know all you nice people. let's not stop encouraging one another ok.

I actually voted yesterday ($250.00-500.00), but didn't comment at the time.

I mentioned on a thread in the SBI! section how I had recently received a CJ check which I didn't know to expect (they give you no "You have made a sale" notification). Between that, Adsense (which took me 2 months to accumulate), and a couple of other sales, I've broken the $250 mark (after some expenditures... I had a cable connection before I got into marketing, with a teenager doing homework etc. Still, I consider part of my internet bill as a business expense.)

And one word of caution... when just starting out (especially here at Halloween!), beware of the "lurking spouse".

When your first checks come in the mail, she'll give those looks early on, as if to say "All that time you spend at the computer and you get a check for $8?" Confused

And as soon as the $50's and $100's come rolling in (well, not exactly "rolling" yet), it becomes "Oh, look what We've done!"

Oh yea, she's proud of you Cool ... but you can see it in her eyes... that "Now I'm going shopping" look. Very Happy

Don't even try "Oh Honey, I'll need to reinvest that into Pay-Per-Clicks". Rolling Eyes

"Pay-per-What?"

Sometimes the "lurking spouse" can't be avoided, but you've been warned. Twisted Evil

LOL Lurking spouses! I have one of those Smile At first, like you say, it's "ok I think you are crazy but give it a try."

Then after a while it's "how much longer are you going to spend on that thing" Now, remember, I've been doing this for over 5 years and hubby is patient, but not THAT patient.

Last year it was ... "ok but don't spend too much" so I agreed *sigh*

Now that regular, decent checks are coming in, it's "how much you make today?" and "when are you going to get started on that new site?" lol

I love it!

15% of affiliates in general do not make $10K+ net a month! More like 0.0015% I should think.

I find it an excellent poll, too though. Smile

All the best,
Charlie.

Charlie I think that number, 0.0015%, could be higher. I started affiliate marketing about 2 months ago I only have three sites and a few ads on google going straight to the merchants site. One of my sites didn't make any money the other two are doing really good and my campaigns on google are also bringing in a decent amount. After two months of work I'm already making $15,000 a month. Sometimes it's really unbelievable the high demand for some products with virtually no competiton (I didn't get any of my ideas from strickeitniche either, I've never even read it). Now for somebody who is a high school drop out smokes weed, drinks, and is only 19 years old and still lives in a mobile home with his mother (not for long though) it's really hard to believe some people actually have a hard time trying to get affiliate marketing to work for them its astonishing that people even have a hard time trying to get above $250 a month. I still have about 3 more ideas that should probably double my monthly income in about 3-5 months from now. Some of the most profitable niches are right in front of your face. Like most people say is to follow your passion, well, I do what Phil Wiley says and FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Secondly, if you are concerned about sales letters for your own products, the best resource I've found is "Power Copywriting for the Internet" by Bob Serling. I haven't got a URL for it, but Paul Myers bought the digital rights a while ago, and if you email him, I'm sure he'll be happy to sell you a copy. His email is...

Actually, I believe it's Corey Rudl, not Paul, who bought the rights to this...

Congratulations. If you are driven enough, following the money can be an excellent idea.

The trouble is, many people's comfort zone proves to be just a little bit too comfortable, and passion can be the best way out of it.

Yes, Corey did - quite a while ago, but only sold Bob's book as physical product.

Paul Myers bought the digital rights (at least) earlier this year and sells it as a PDF.

Cheers,
Charlie.

I just started with affiliate marketing about two weeks ago. So far I've earned $23! But I'll have to wait till my total gets up to $100 to receive a check for my efforts.

Still, I'm encouraged to be getting results! I nearly had a heart attack when I got an email stating that I'd made a sale! Laughing

I voted in the lowest category . . . and I have nowhere to go but up!
