Would help to see the article
I've read a lot about various toolbars, including Google's, Alexa's, etc. It's a matter of preference and your personal privacy limit.
Google doesn't personally identify me, they don't invade my computer, or force advertising on me, take me to places I don't want to go, or mess with my site, so I have no problems with them.

Like anyone new to starting a web site, we tend to seek out forums for help and guidance in this endeavor. I would appreciate any feedback from the more experienced on the link I listed. I personally found this information to be quite deflating. I noted on another post that I don't mind taking a gamble as long as I knew the odds. The more I read the greater the odds seem to be for lil ole me.

I don't know anything about the creators of this site, but they're not exactly fans of Google, are they!
The problem is, most people are, and even the other SEs are moving in the same direction.
Basically, whatever you find, there are always going to be people who don't like it. Take everything in perspective, then run with it. If you build something, the odds will be much more with you than most people.
Forget about that site, and get on with your own publishing, if you ask me.
Hope this helps,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Your privacy is in much more danger from people going through your trash or your handing your credit card over in a restaurant. If the reporting on that site were more even-handed, then it would be something I might give credence to, but, personally, as it is now, I can't.
When Yahoo had the massive share of the market, and everyone else was a little guy, there were sites like that about them too. Might still be Looksmart has a project called "Grub" whereby you give them permission to use your computer, internet connection and resources, when you don't. If you give them permission, they have much more access to your info, than Google ever thought. Check this out: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=looksmart+grub
I agree with Charlie, don't get wound up, put it into perspective and work your site Protect yourself, respect your visitors privacy, and enjoy the opportunity to explore the www.
