Has anyone had their web host tell them their using to many cpu minutes before. I use dreamhost for some of my websites and they told me a cgi amazon script used too much last week. They say I need to be using less than 30 minutes. The script is a really good one by the way, you may already be familiar with mrrat's amazon script.

It's common amongst shared hosting. You are not allowed to run the processor over XX% for YY minutes.
I would try and find a way to minimize the script usage... either cache the results, or have it run less frequently... or get a dedicated host. _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...

I'm not sure how that Amazon script is set up, but you can try tweaking it to run once a night, and saving the results in a regular file.
Then simply include that file in your pages.
Of course if your visitors manually access the script, then this certainly wouldn't be an option.
Seriously, if they're giving you too many problems about it, consider switching hosts or getting a dedicated server as edburdo recommended. _________________ Robert

The problem with dedicated hosting is it costs so much that I would be losing money instead making a couple of extra bucks with the script. It's part of running on a tight budget.
Does anybody know of a good php script that works with any other affiliate programs for books, dvds etc? I'm thinking of getting away from Amazon anyway at least on some of my sites. A lot of my sites are for kids and amazon is starting to sell adult crap. _________________ Webmaster of http://webmastertips.us & http://artwallposters.com
