Hi fellow JM students,

I was a bit shaken by the last buzz when James said he probably won't be doing reciprocal links anymore. He suggests that the best way to get links now is by the PAD technique. So I was just curious on how you distribute your PADs. Do you submit them to article directores? Do you approach webmasters? And how many PADs will be enough to get sufficient incoming links for ranking?

I have personally been outsourcing my PADs on elance. Got about six of them for each of my sites. What I do is submit the to the article directories where other webmasters pick them up.

Thanks for your thoughts,

JonB

Hi Jon,

I was a bit annoyed personally. You see, I reciprocal link with lots of sites as well as take my own articles that appear on my sites and post those to directories. This method took 2 new sites from May and June to a PR 4 home page with internal pages PR 3. It works for me and I'll keep doing it like that until it doesn't.

Hey, PR4 in that short period of time is pretty good Smile

Yeah I was kinda shocked cuz he dedicates a good portion of the manual to the reciprocal linking strategy. Well I do have one website that's only hooked with PADs and directory submissions. I'm really pleased with the results thus far, arround 200 uniques per day. What I failed to do on that website was pick a good topic, so the income is not too great LOL. What I really don't like about link partnering is the time involved in managing it. With PADs you just shoot em off and see the links piling in over time. Cool

Thanks Smile

Can you at least rework the topic a bit so it becomes more profitable?

When I have a bit more cash rolling in (either from getting a job or the sites exploding.. lol) I plan on outsourcing regular and PAD articles for sure. Though I don't find the link exchanging too bad as of right now. Mind you, I don't actually CHECK them once their posted, a situation I should correct, but meh, don't feel like it.. lol

I still do linking as well, along with PAD articles, because when I look at a lot of my competitors, a lot of the top Google listings for these niches are still sites with tons of link partners. Take "candles" for instance, the number two site, next to Yankee, has loads of link partners pages... and little actual content. I don't know how typical this is, but I find this is the case with several of the niches I've choisen.

All I can say is WOW... That article on having a linking stategy and how to gain #1 position on any competitive keyword was extra ordinary. Thank you very much for posting it.

This report is inaccurate and outdated. Typing link: www.example. com in Google won't show you all the PR 4 pages linking to a site. At one time, that was true, but it hasn't been for quite some time.

The report also indicates that only PR 4 links help you rank in Google. That's not accurate either. This was a popular SEO myth that started when Google only showed the PR 4 links, but it was a matter of jumping to conclusions. (The reasoning was that if Google only showed the PR 4 links, then those were the only links it counted. That's just not true. Wasn't true then, and it isn't true now.)

A PR 4 link is a lot more powerful than a PR 3 link yes, but that doesn't mean it doesn't count.

The article was correct about one thing. Reciprocal linking does still work. But it's only part of a complete linkbuilding strategy, and it shouldn't make up your entire linking strategy.

As I have said before.. dont place all your eggs in one basket.

if your relying on one method of traffic.. your robbing yourself.
