What should be the minimum bandwidth i should sign up for on hosting? There are cheap hosting offers out there, but im not wanting to get stuck with a bad provider or hosting service. Please advise.

The host providers im between are:
GoDaddy
BlueFish
SimpleHost
BlueHost

What is the minimum i should be looking out for in specs and what features are a must have nowadays? I am going to make my decision by Monday. All feedback welcome. Thx!

It all depends on what you want to do with the site...

Bearing in mind that support is arguably at least as important as uptime (when selecting a host), a good approach might be to come up with an email that specifies exactly what you plan to do with your site, and send it to each of the hosts on your short list, asking for advice.

This should accomplish two things. Firstly, you'll make sure they have a package that does what you need, but more importantly you can test out their response... is it timely and does it sound like they know what they are talking about?

Ask them questions about bandwidth, or anything else that concerns you.

You can compare their answers for consistency, but also know that if any don't respond well when you are offering to hand them money, it is a very bad sign.

From my experience, most companies are sharper with presales enquiries than general support thereafter. In other words, if they're bad now, good luck later.

Hope this helps,
Charlie.
