Hi all,
If my query sounds dumb, that's because I am !
When building a website, how do you work out how much
webspace and bandwidth you'll need ?
The website package I'm thinking of using, will have 200mb
of webspace, and 1,500mb of bandwidth. How do I work out
how many pages this will give me considering that most of
the pages will differ in size ?
Also, do you need more webspace when using graphics ?..and
how does the bandwidth come into play ?

John ... not knowing who you are hosting with ... but most hosts ... will allow you to upgrade to the next level of hard disk space and bandwidth .. if you start to reach the limit of your current plan ...
They don't want to lose you after all ... _________________ Kind Regards,

well that's easy... every hit or visit will cost you bandwidth... like if u have a webpage of 80kb(counting graphics too :p). So whenever someone opens up the page.. 80kb of bandwidth will get consumed... now there r some cases when people stops it and refresh it.. so in that cases the whole page might even take more than 100kb... cuz it'll have to load again.. n that's once more bandwidth consuption.
well if you are making a content site with 300-400 pages I suspect if you'll be even able to fill up 100 mb .. unless you site have huge graphics n video.
1500 mb of bandwidth is decent for a month..
most starting out sites won't consume that much...

Unless your getting into file hosting, or lots of audio and video, you won't have to worry much about disk space. All the good hosting companies generally give you enough.
Bandwidth might be a consideration. Frequently you can get a decent starter package and then purchase more bandwidth. I wouldn't pay more than $1 per GB if you go over. If the company charges you more for extra bandwidth, I would look into other hosts. _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...
