Hello all. First off, I created a blog at http://spaces.msn.com three weeks ago and added text links from my blog to each of my webpages in the custom bar on the right hand side of the page and now all my pages are listed at msn's search engine  . I even added three new pages last wekend and they were picked up within a week! I truly believe this was a direct result of the blog creation. This could be a way for new webmasters to get their pages easily listed in msn, just wanted to get that out of the way, maybe it will help someone.
Next, i noticed that google and yahoo also picked up my home page when msn listed it, great! But niether engine has yet to pick up any of my other pages on my site. I am being patient and I am not in some burning hurry but, I do wander when the others will pick up my additional pages. The big reason for this is, I have three #1 listings over at msn and out of those three pages they appear to be #1 for several phrases, not just the key word or phrase i optimised them for. As you can imagine, this is beginning to bring in a trickle of traffic that is quite a confidence builder!
Now if I can only get those seo pages listed in google, my trickle may just turn into a small stream. I read somewhere that if you get half your pages listed at half the search engines you should feel lucky. However, it appears as if things have changed so much with the engine listings that most people get most or all their pages in most or all of the search engines (eventually).
So does anyone know, once google has my home page listed (which they do) how long should it take for them to spider my text and graphic links off my home page and find my other pages? any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated as always. I also hope that the tip at the beggining of this post can help someone. If you are new and trying to get your pages listed it can be a great start point, and the blog is very easy to create. Thank You again!

I'm honestly not sure how long it generally takes for them to crawl your internal pages... but my advice would be this:
Get quality links pointing to those internal pages from other domains (or blogs) - that's a surefire way to send a spider over!

Hey - can I ask you a totally off topic question?
How are you monetizing your internal pages? Like this one for example: http://www.film-documentary.com/the-endurance.html . These are great content pages, but there are no "call to action" points, external links or even Adsense blocks displayed on the page.
If I were interested in that movie, and read your review from start to finish - in your mind, what would you want me (your visitor) to do next?
Should I click my Home button. Close my browser. Use my Google Search in the toolbar to find more information on the movie... Or what?
I hope my tone is coming through as I mean for it to. If you follow in my footsteps and read through that page... when you get to the bottom (below the fold) the only link is an email link at the end. So I would assume you would prefer for visitors to email you after reading this. Only if they have questions, though - correct?

I totally agree with Lynn. You're doing a great job pre-selling the documenting the movie, but then there's no "money links". Maybe put up links to rent this movie via NetFlix or a link to a place where they can purchase this movie. Also, you could display Adsense ads on the right side of the reviews.
As for getting the pages indexed, get some more quality incoming links in. Do some reciprocal linking, which isn't necessarily quality links, but will help can some exposure for your site. Dispurse one of your reviews to the article hubs like Goarticles.com, Article-Submissions.com or EzineArticles.com .

I know I know...Netflix has had some bumps in their security in the last few months, but I still have faith in them. They're a good company that has revolutionalized the way people rent movies.
I like how Blockbuster and others scurried to get their movies online and "late fee's...gone" slogan's out the door AFTER Netflix had been around.

Thank you guys so much for your interest! I meant to check this thread yesterday but forgot so I am a little late.
Yes, I am aware of the monetizing issue. I was waiting on more steady traffic before adding google or other aff. Links. But I am anxious to get started on my links.
I had already pondered netflix for renting and also maybe amazon? For selling the movies themselves and books and such, related materials to the subject. I have heard some bad things about amazon so I am not sure if I will use them or not. I have not even read their terms of use or affiliate agreement yet, so I am waiting to judge for myself. Netflix, however seems to get thumbs-up all the way around.
I have simply been so busy submitting articles and writing for the site that I have placed money links on the back burner. I am however gearing up to add links sometime soon. Thank you both for your advice! As always there is help where help is needed on this great resource that Allan has created.

I think Amazon's program has gotten a lot better since they updated their compensation structure. If I remember correctly, under their old plan, an affiliate would not get anything for the first 20 or 25 referrals each month. The commissions kicked in after they hit that number.
Thats a tough policy for a new site that is still trying to build and get traffic.
