Wally and Allan,
Here's a suggestion that the board perhaps have a "Free For All Zone" where off topic discussions might take place.
You guys are pretty darn tolerant of off topic ranting. I should know!
Maybe you could tighten the board up a bit, and still retain your skillful diplomacy, if you could redirect the Rantasourous-Among-Us to a place dedicated to topics other than netbiz.
With a bit of practice, even I could perhaps learn to redirect myself to the blowhard zone, saving you the trouble. _________________ Free Email Discussion Group For Your Site

Seriously, Phil, why???
This site is dedicated to serious affiliates from beginner to expert. There are places elsewhere for every off-topic subject you want. A bit like a pub crawl, you can have a ball visiting them.
I tolerate the occasional whimsy, stepping in with a timely PM when someone is over the top, but most off-topic moments are but temporary, thank goodness, and you guys get down to the nitty gritty.
Might I suggest, that if off-topic subjects were prolonged, we would lose many valuable members whose contributions make this site so informative. There are people, you know, who find such material intolerable.
Gee, I'm a spoil sport - but that's my view-point here.

No worries Wally, just more brainstorming. Each one worth what you paid for it! I'm not attached either way.

Imagine going to a Rotary Club meeting. Imagine that you go loyally every week, for years. (my step dad didn't miss a single weekly meeting in 30 years!)
You start to get to know the people you are dealing with. They turn out to be real people, not just business entities. They have kids, hobbies, opinions, etc.
By occasionally exploring more aspects of these folks, they become friends over time.
You find that when you need to buy something, you buy it from these friends.
Some call it networking. It's good business!
Imagine a company where all interactions are limited to work.
Imagine another company where the employees get together to play softball on the weekends.
I'm just doing the debate mode dance here Wally. I'm A-OK with things as they are. _________________ Free Email Discussion Group For Your Site
