Hi guys,
I was reading other threads last week and I remember someone talking about some sort of content management system where he/she let's the authors post articles on his site by themselves..
the only thing he needs to do is to allow that article to be published on web, after checking it.
I was checking out CMS's and couldn't find this specific feature.... any other Content system you suggest?
Tho it sounds lot like blog but I don't want blog

TXP does. So do most of the good CMS packages. If your looking for a CMS, I would make sure it produces friendly (sometimes call "clean") URL's. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

Hey, thanks for this info Edburdo. I took a quick look at this and it doesn't quite look complete. Are you using it? What is your opinion of it? I like the fact that it's free. _________________ Chuck Waters

All but my site selling physical goods uses TXP. That site uses osCommerce (a free shopping cart storefront package).
I have been using TXP since 1.0rc1. It is only up to version 1.0rc3, but there have been a lot of changes. It has it's quirks, but I like it. Easy to setup, easy to use. Serves up pages quickly, and pretty easy to customize (dozens and dozens of plugins available). _________________ Eric D. Burdo

Thanks edburdo. This got me to thinking. I'm having a hard time managing chnage to my web site and as I started researching CMS tools, I have become excited. I found another called Mambo which looks and feels more complete than TXS. Have you played with it? TXS looks more like a cross between CMS lite and a blog.
I'm going to be playing with some of these over the next few days, that's for sure. _________________ Chuck Waters

If you search around on the TXP forums, you will find comparisons to many other CMS tools.
I like TXp because it does what I need quickly and easily. Mambo is a good CMS. It has some features TXP doesn't (just like TXP has some that Mambo doesn't). It all depends on your skill level and what features you need.
If you follow the Content link in my sig below, you will see a TXP site. _________________ Eric D. Burdo
